A fabulous lunch at this lovely Gastro pub! Recently taken over by a lovely couple who have an abundance of experience, including exceptional wedding catering and professional event catering. There are well thought out and imaginative menus that cater for all. Great food at a great price with a warm, friendly service and a real Cotswolds ambience.
Lunch on a Wednesday, not too busy, staff were good and the food was lovely and quite reasonably priced. They have a nice garden too. We will definitely be back
Me and my partner have been coming for a while, enjoyed every meal we have had here, it's always very cozy, staff are very friendly and helpful, we will definitely return
we had a lovely family lunch today. We ate inside, although there is a lovely garden, and the bar area was cool and welcoming, with tables well spaced in the lovely old building. We were greeted promptly by the friendly, helpful staff and had trouble choosing from the tempting menu. All of it was very good value for the quality of food, particularly the 2 for £18 options. All our dishes were beautifully cooked and presented;the chef is clearly accomplished. It was good to see local produce on the food and drinks menu.
Stopped here for lunch with a colleague. So pleased we did! We had a starter and a main course. Both were amazing and great value. The standard of the home cooked food was much better than I expected for that price. The staff were very welcoming and professional and the pub/restaurant itself has so much character and was a pleasant place to be in. Looking forward to going here again next time I'm visiting a customer in this area.
What a find! We had gone for a very muddy January walk in the nearby Heart of England forest and wanted a hot lunch. The chef is very accomplished and knows his flavours. No microwaved meals here. We had the moules and tandoori prawns to start which were great. For mains we had the venison and the 3 fish. The photos do not do it justice. Both had fantastic sauces and purees that really bought the dishes together. We do not live in the area but not too far so will be back. Of course we had to have the dessert. Great service too despite being busy.
Ideal location for a meal in the country. Great menu the pheasant dish was wonderful.
What a fabulous place. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. The food was absolutely amazing. Only disappointment was that I couldn't find room for dessert. Will definitely be returning.
Just had the most beautiful meal here. Quaint pub with a fire. I had the trio of fish which came with dauphinoise, veg and a tasty sauce. And the apple crumble is to die for! Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Had Sunday lunch yesterday 5th. It was very nice indeed. The pub was packed and the staff were working very hard. In this difficult time the owners are really working hard to give good food and service. We will be going again.
