Story

The Hotel Balmoral in Torquay holds one of the most unique and unrivalled locations of the many hotels situated in Devon. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Torquay’s best kept secret. Situated in the stunning and scenic conservation area of Meadfoot, with fantastic views out to sea looking towards thatcher rock and our across our large landscaped sun trapped gardens yet we are only a short walk from the Torquay Town centre and harbour side and minutes from the blue flag awarded Meadfoot beach.

We provide popular dinner bed and breakfast breaks and bed and breakfast breaks all season including Christmas and New Year. Our highly experienced Chef and British record holding fisherman Sean Coulson creates & freshly prepared fantastic five course English cuisine with a French twist all included as part of a package break on an excellent value dinner bed and breakfast basis.

Our produce includes fish purchased direct from Brixham fish market and local family butchers for all our meats. We always uses fresh vegetables and where possible sourced from UK.

We offer a selection of various rooms ranging from our excellent standard rooms to our more premium and also ones overlooking our garden with a sea view. We also offer a range of different breaks and packages throughout the season which include weekend breaks, midweek breaks, Christmas and New Year breaks.

The Hotel Balmoral is Family run with a small team of friendly staff, we pride ourselves on providing a relaxed and informal atmosphere, coupled with our great location, gardens, well stocked bar and outstanding cuisine - this makes us your ideal place for hospitality & of course, accommodation in Torquay.

We had a one night stay at The Hotel Balmoral. The hotel itself is cosy and relaxed and the five course evening meal for £23.95 per person was outstanding value - excellent quality and service. The only negative point was that our double room had no view and was very dark; the en suite had carpet which was very dusty in the corners as was the towel rail etc. That being said, we would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel, good location. The room was a little small, but was clean, well equipped, and a comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed 4 nights a very good hotel the food was excellent and the staff are friendly it as a nice warm atmosphere the rooms are nice and clean, a good bar and a nice choice of drinks, the garden is very large and is great for a nice relaxing day, it very close to the seafront 2 minute walk from the hotel his is the second time we have satyed here and was very pleased last time as well.

Calm tranquil surroundings with beautiful views surrounding you great coastal walk meadfoot beach is a 3 minute walk from the hotel balmoral and the staff are friendly and happy to help your stay be as good as possible breakfast is great overall service and friendly atmosphere definitely makes you feel welcome I am already planning to go back in October.
