Absolutely fab location, so make sure you get a balcony room. Handy for taking a walk down into the town. A little bit tired but still one of my favourite places to stay. However, prices have gotten ridiculous, so locals like me can't afford to stay as often as I used to.
Great hotel in an excellent location. Our room was very nice, with great views out to sea. The Imperial has very good parking and it's very easy to walk down into the town of Torquay. There are both indoor and outdoor pools and a beauty spa. The food was good too, with a breakfast buffet and the dinner menu In the evening had plenty of choice. I would certainly go there again
The Imperial Torquay hotel impresses with its fantastic ocean views, excellent service, and wonderful staff. The rooms are impeccably clean, and the staff is polite, friendly, and caring. It's no wonder this hotel was once ranked among the best in the world.nnVery good breakfasts, special thanks to Basha who was always very friendly and helpful.nnThe rooms are very beautiful and comfortable, and although the hotel was founded in 1866, which can be felt in some signs of wear and tear, it doesn't detract from the experience. The atmosphere is amazing. The hotel has hosted European royalty, Winston Churchill, The Beatles, and even Agatha Christie, who mentioned it in her books.nnIf we return to Torquay, we'll definitely stay at this hotel again. It's located in a quiet, picturesque area, and the food is delicious and made with care.nnMy family and I sincerely thank the staff for making our stay wonderful.
Stayed here for the weekend. In their standard double room. Location was great. Lots to do around the area and lively bars down the road in the evening. The room was nice only thing that could have been better was cleanliness cobwebs on the corner of wall. But having hand wash and shower gel to hand with clean towels was a nice touch. Staff at reception were lovely. Parking wasn't brilliant paid £8.50 to park overnight but was driving around for a while waiting for space to become available. Overall hotel was lovely very posh and a calm place to be the swimming pool and sauna was also lovely too
The Imperial at Torquay is as good as it was when I used to stay in the 1990s, although the 'special feel' has gone. Good value for money. Room is great very comfy bed!, and meals superb. Think the staff could smile occasionally though !
