A tale of two Halves.nnVery tired corridors and rooms. In some parts there was a weird smell as well.nnHowever, the main facility hub was fantastic for the kids. A very generous swimming area and a fantastic games area. With ten pin bowling and a soft play. With multiple arcades, pool and snooker tables. There's also an outdoor pool for those who are brave enough.nnVarious bars with decent food and service. The evening entertainment area was also enjoyable.nnWould me and the wife return on our own for a romantic weekend away? We wouldn'tnnWould we return with the kids? 100%nnPlenty to occupy the youngsters, close to the main beach. Considering the hotels had their fair share of older guests, it's definitely a place for families to enjoy as well.
Getting charged £10 for parking automatically loses a star for starters.nGood money earner but not appealing to guests, especially in a coastal location out of season.nAs well as pay for parking, pay for gym, pay for towel ! It was an expensive start!nOtherwise it was a nice stay, the whole place was a bit dated but the staff were lovely.nHuge indoor pool & good sauna & steam room.nThe gym wasn't up to much. The equipment was probably 30yrs old.. but did the job in fairness.nIt's probably more appealing to a more mature crowd generally and no doubt buzzing in the summer.nNot the worse, not the best
Stayed 1 night, good job as the bed was like sleeping on a slab of bumpy rock. Neither one of us got much sleep. Booked a room. With a sea view the sea was in the distance as you looked across the roof of the reception. Also asked if we had any requests, so we asked for a room with a bath had an email to say this request had been met, when we got there room had no bath so asked at reception, was told ooh sorry all rooms gone with a bath and don't know what happened there. Then we were told had to pay for parking an extra £10 but was told probably not a good idea to use car again as they were expecting lots more guests and the car parks were already full and that if we came back and couldn't park we'd have to repay at a public car park wherever you could find one. As we checked out the next morning the girl on reception asked if all ok, we said about the beds as others had also complained, she said ooh dear never mind sorry about that. On the up side pools were nice and breakfast was OK.
Thoroughly disappointed in the hotel, the position isn't good for anything if you don't want to take the car out. The room we had was adequate but very dark as we were looking onto a wall. The bathroom is compact and there is a smell of sewage all the way to the swimming pool. The drinks are extortionate and having paid £360 for 3 nights, room only out of high season, it isn't value for money. It will definitely not be going on our Visit Again list.
Rooms very tired and dated, and they really do need bringing up to scratch for the monies being paid. Had to change room as the 1st one you could actually see the mattress concave right through the middle and to think they were happy to pass this off as acceptable...spa is really good staff very helpful hotel just very over priced for what it is offering desperately needs investment...
