The pub is a beautiful place to have food as you can see by my pictures. The staff are lovely thoughtful and very professional. Ive driven past this place many times and thought I'd like to eat in there which I did today. Im so glad I did the starter crispy duck was amazing as was all the food we ordered. Please eat here you will NOT be disappointed. GREAT PLACE.
Absolutely fantastic pub. Great atmosphere, love all the artwork and the atmosphere. Very friendly staff and my Lamb was delicious! The Guinness was also good, too was the coffee after the meal. Definitely coming back when I am in the area.
We called here for Sunday lunch yesterday. A fantastic coaching inn that's been thoughtfully renovated. The Sunday roast beef dinner was excellent quality, the topside particularly, and with a couple of extra sides of vegetables enough to fulfil a couple of good appetites in one course. Hopefully next time we will have more time to sample more courses as there were some excellent options. The exemplary staff made this a five star experience.
We have just Dined for the first time, at the Highwayman this evening, & the food was excellent,We missed out on the Sunday roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding,so settled on the shoulder of lamb,& my other half ordered the pork with Yorkshire pud,& both Delicious!!! Had the Bread &:butter pudding & The Apple & Rhubard crumble both served with vanilla custard!! Delish!! The staff were likewise helpful &friendly. So If you haven't been I suggest you try it as you won't be disappointed!! 10/10
This is our second visit here this year. I have to say that the decor and the food were exceptional. We turned up without a booking for Saturday lunch and they managed to fit us in. The staff were very helpful and the service was top class. They have a great selection of wines and beers. It is a wonderful pub when you are inside, very friendly with a great atmosphere. Would recommend and will definitely come back.
The food was perfect, I really can't fault it. The service was excellent too. We were served by a very friendly and helpful young lady. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again Thank you.
The Highwayman is a charming old coaching inn with old oak beams, huge stone fireplaces, tastefully modernised with a high restaurant standard that comes at a very competitive price. Food of this fine quality is rare at this price, they have an excellent chef. The menu choices range from steaks, gourmet pies, specials, Italian and fine dining English, to pub specials for lunch. The drinks menu was of a fine range and quality with wines from around the world. A great atmosphere, lots of low light secluded corners or more tables to sit with large groups in the various rooms or quadrant areas of this extensive restaurant, pub, inn. I would describe it as a friendly, inexpensive, tastefully furnished gastro pub/ bistro/fine ding restaurant or a wonderfully friendly pub restaurant with bar area separate. Beth worked hard and nothing was too much trouble, a rare combination of friendliness, efficiency, speed of service and a natural way with people. Hannah also made sure we were in well looked after as did the manager. We will return. Paul Davies frtca.

Beautiful experience, the staff were very welcoming, friendly, jolly and professional. We felt at home and valued. Our server recommended fantastic local drinks and every dish was generous in quality and quantity. We will be visiting again before we leave! The ambience, seating and setting are brilliantly matched, gazing at their various bits of art, soaking in the atmosphere from the woodwork and fire place. Highly recommend.
