Story

Kirkby Lonsdale is an historic market town, on the border of three counties: North Yorkshire, Cumbria and Lancashire. Nestled between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, Ingleton Falls and the Trough of Bowland are also within easy access of Kirkby Lonsdale.

Just behind the Sun Inn’s boutique B&B in Kirkby Lonsdale is St Marys Churchyard, with the original sun dial which inspired the inn’s name. Guests can also meander down to the River Lune to enjoy Ruskin’s View, immortalised by the painter JMW Turner, during an overnight stay at this Cumbrian beauty spot.
