Sadly i would not recomend this hotel it needs a complet renivastion new carpets updated furniture and maintence through out. Also the owner needs to provide more staff such as cleaners as thats really letting the hotel down as no excuse at all for having a dirty hotel i can look past most things but having a clean room to stay in a comfortable bedding is so important.The owner of this hotel needs to do better. As this hotel with the investment and care put into would turn it around as its in a great location thats only postive thing i can say as it is now its one man on reception doing everything and he is doing the best he can but is having to do all jobs in one along side his wife who dose the cleanning.
DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. It was like staying in a neglected bedsit. The worst room I have ever stayed in. With dirty walls, dirty ripped chair, dirty doors, dirty light switches. Filthy curtain if you could call it a curtain with something like paint on it. I have given one star for the clean bathroom. They obviously painted around the curtain rail without taking it off. Missing skirting board, hair on the carpet and obvious unfinished bathroom decor. I saw the previous bad reviews but stayed as I thought it can’t possibly be that bad. IT WAS THAT BAD as I said do not stay here it is terrible.
This is probably the saddest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It needs a complete refurbishment but, if nothing else, deep cleaning the carpets and painting the walls would help. The mattress was extremely thin - as were the walls with pretty much zero sound proofing. Even pillows appear to be in short supply.nnThe only plus points are that it was basically clean, spacious, and the one man on reception and doing everything else was really helpful.nnAnd it has a car park on a first-come, first-served basis parking can be a challenge on the high street.nnThere’s tea and coffee facilities but no breakfast service. That’s not a problem because there are a number of high quality cafes on the high street.nnThe rooms are on three floors with a spiral staircase. If you have mobility issues, check first.nnSadly, I really wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
We booked 4 rooms after a very late 4 weeks notice Airbnb cancellation for my son's wedding. The hotel was very accommodating for our family's needs and even opened up my mums room 1230am when she left her key in another room. Very happy to stay here again. Rooms were clean and suitable for us all.
The hotel is tired and needs updating, the shower has about as much power as a pound shop water pistol and the bed is about as strong as a flummery.nnLocation is great in the centre of Battle and within easy walking distance of the local attractions.
