Visited couple of weeks ago, with husband and teenage daughter for unplanned quick trip. Located opposite Abbey great view with a cute local pub downstairs with amazing, helpful and chatty people working there.nBack garden is very cool, bar have very local feeling, meals are tasty, and breakfast served to order can not fault.nnWe stayed in room 3, and in terms of cleanness and decor - I can say a bad word! Bathroom was modern, towels fresh, and decor was fresh - with queen bed, and pull up bed, there was not much room left, but we only stayed for 1 night, so didn't really matter.nnThe selection of tea and coffee was really impressive. The highlight of the hotel is 'in case you forgot' chest of drawers!nnThank you - would certainly come back!
I recently stayed overnight at the Abbey Hotel, Battle and in every respect it was a pleasurable experience. Booking was made by phone and achieved quickly through a very polite member of staff. I was provided with a room key and an outside door key and clear directions to Room 8 were provided by the duty staff. Room 8 very quickly established itself as a very comfortable room. It is well appointed, quiet and well equipped. It has evidently been redecorated recently and this added to my comfort.nnAfter a comfortable night and sound sleep I took breakfast in the hotel. The very attentive staff were quick to offer me a choice of dishes and while I waited for scrambled eggs on toast I was served delicious coffee. The dining area is comfortable, well appointed and it has a pleasant ambience. My breakfast was superb and it was served quickly. My experience of the Abbey Hotel encouraged me to visit again. I can thoroughly recommend the hotel, its rooms and cuisine to anyone staying in Battle. Among many attributes are: its location as a base for exploring Battle, being situated close to the famous Battle Abbey; its first class staff whose service is second to none; its cuisine with a menu that is refreshed regularly; its quiet, comfortable bedrooms; and its reasonable costs.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. Hands down best room I've stayed at since arriving in country a month ago. Super nice and comfy. Love the Abbey view from room 1. Had the Spanish Chicken dinner - DELICIOUS meal! Staff are lovely, very friendly and super helpful. My food allergies were noted and well handled. Wi-Fi was good. Had all I needed. Highly recommend both food and rooms here; both very reasonably priced.
I visited the restaurant in the Abbey hotel yesterday with my husband and we really enjoyed our meals. The food was delicious and the customer service we received was fantastic. Logan was friendly, attentive and efficient, he is an absolute gem and made our visit an exceptional one.
In desperate need of just a decent cuppa and some traditional scones. They really delivered. Probably the best battle scone around. Gently warmed with super fresh cream and jam. Even the tea is properly brewed. 1st class
