I came here with my Mum and we had the sourdough, pear salad and triple cooked chips. Everything was really great and the service was amazing, very lovely staff working here. Highly recommend!
Had been quite a while since we'd visited; I remember it being a bit chaotic. Not so now, the layout has changed a bit and clearly for the better. The food was amazing, best chips I've had in years, and the range of drink was good too. Finding a mild on cask is always a win! Staff were very helpful and friendly and it was a really lovely pub to rest and escape to
We had such a lovely time at the Gatehouse last weekend! There were 13 of us and though we ended up sitting in a different place because the table before us was taking their time, we had a lovely dinner in the dining area and the staff was so patient with us, We were talking and having a lovely time and so didn't sit for at least an hour and a half upon arriving and they didn't rush us to order, and they let us linger long past everyone else leaving the dining room. Accommodating and very sweet. A big thank you to Richard and the rest of the staff. Oh and the food was wonderful, and all served within a minute for everyone in a big group. Thank you!!!
There was a party of middle aged men at one end of the room. They had been there since 2. It was now 6/7.30. the noise was at a crescendo. 5 or 6 tables just walked out.nThe Iberian pork was absolutely gorgeous and the Tom Lehrer show excellent.nBut the noise level was unbelievable.
Nice atmospheric pub with good food and a roaring fire. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the paella was delicious. The only slight downside was that most of the party had their food and one member of the party had to wait for their food. They did apologize for this and I understand that they were very busy. They checked on us for drinks and I would visit again. Recommend a pop in for drinks and a meal. Close to Kenwood house and Hampstead Heath so it is perfect for a walk after a heavy meal.
