Dined here for a roast dinner on Sunday evening, what an experience! From the warm welcome at both the front door and the room upstairs, to finishing our wine in the main bar afterwards - 10/10. The room is gorgeous, very busy, even though we booked the last slot, it was a very nice atmosphere to walk in to. Service was polite and attentive, drinks came promptly, as did the food. My boyfriend and I both had the roast lamb and shared some cauliflower cheese. Everything was genuinely amazing, hot and perfectly cooked/seasoned. Yorkies were the best I’ve had in London. Afterwards we shared the “Banana Miso soft serve” - try it. Perfect light, cold and fresh sweet treat after a rich roast. We were welcome to stay downstairs and finish our wine - a very nice end to the week and would absolutely recommend!
I’ve heard about this place forever, but finally had the chance to come with a friend who lives in Islington.nnThe space itself is a gorgeous restoration of an old pub with tons of stained glass and original decor.nnThe weight staff was super friendly and super attentive. And it being a Sunday, I absolutely had to have a roast. I did the Suffolk chicken with a delicious gravy and veg, and also shared a cauliflower cheese with my friend. Everything was very yummy and very filling.
I went on a Sunday early evening. The first floor was packed full, the host at the door asked me if I was there for food or drinks. I was there for their famous Sunday Roast. The, he took me to a seat by the window counter.nnI had to go to the bar and order my Lamb Roast and a glass of Pinot Noir. The bartender was nice but we could barely hear each other. This place is small and loud. The food came out fairly quick. My lamb roast was delicious. It could have been a little hotter temperature wise, but everything in that plate tasted so good.nnThe atmosphere is lively and vibrant. If you’re interested in karaoke, they offer that upstairs. I didn’t get a chance to check it out but by the sound I heard from downstairs, it sounded like people were having a blast there.
Had an amazing time. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The decor was beautiful with stained glass windows and the vibe was cosy. I went there on a Sunday, me and my friends had the lamb roast dinner which was delicious and had sticky toffee for desert.
A beautifully glamorous pub with a roaring fire and an offering of Sunday roasts! The beef roast came laden with plenty of meat and the veggie option was a mushroom wellington which comes with sweet potato in the middle. The Yorkshire’s looked like they were going to hit the ceiling ! The food was not incredibly hot when it reached the table, which was a bit of a let down. The real showstopper were the bloody Mary’s! Perfectly tart and spicy, I’d go back just for them alone!
