Said to be the oldest pub in Stratford upon Avon, an inn for the past 300 years. Alluring from the outside and interesting on the inside. Good selection of beer and friendly day staff. Food looked nice too.
Green King pub in an historic building in the centre of Stratford. Tiny entrance opens out to a bar and restaurant with old beams and wooden panelling. Good menu with gluten free options but when we visited on Sunday afternoon in November, some of the options were sold out and the waitress was functional but not very friendly. Drinks selection was good and the food was tasty and hot.
Perfect environment. I had lunch in this old restaurant in the town, the atmosphere was wonderful and beautiful, the food was decent in taste and price, staff were friendly and nice. Added together was a five star’s experience.
Stopped here for lunch when we were on a coach trip to Stratford-on-Avon very Olde world pub inside. had steak and ale pie and my wife had fish and chips I thought the mashed potato was instant as it didn't taste particularly nice and the pie looked wonderful but quite honestly I was very disappointed with the amount of meat or anything else that was inside it so wouldn't go there again was the potato instant?
Out of all the places we went to visit, The Garrick was 1 of the best, my top Great locals that were friendly, chatty & very helpful on places to visit. We also had food that I would highly recommend, hearty tasty food. Drinks & food both very decent prices
Beautiful food. Sunday roast is fully recommended. Great service, and very helpful and friendly staff. Table service. Such an enjoyable environment.
Had roast dinner. Put under pressure as we were asked to vacate after 1 hour due to a pre-booked slot but it took 45 minutes to get the meal which was too salty. A very large portion size had ordered an extra cauliflower cheese but in fairness not needed. Hands up to the staff had left a bottle with med on the table which was returned on a return visit later in the afternoon It was good value compared to other restaurants locally.
Lovely exterior but the modern duck egg renovation takes away some of the character indoors. Drinks average as chain pub but staff are friendly and care about customers.
Went to this lovely historic pub for our Anniversary lunch yesterday, food was very nice,& not overpriced, Staff were friendly , would definitely recommend it.
A lovely, super friendly pub. The weekend waiting staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. My only gripe is the new menu. Very little vegetarian or pescitarian choice. The previous menu had a very comprehensive selection. Not sure if it was our particular chef, but all food was very heavily salted, to the point where I couldn't eat some if my food. I really enjoy frequenting The Garrick, but sadly my last dining experience has discouraged me from wanting to eat there again. We voiced our opinions to the waiting staff, who were extremely polite and advised us that the chef was merely following the recipe instruction.
