A nice rear patio. A quaint old pub inside. A good choice of beers. The food was excellent: it came quickly, and was of great quality. I had the Big Fish and Chips, it was superb for £13.95. See pic partly eaten because it was so good!
The food and the service was decent. Drinks were a bit dear but then again most things are nowadays. And they were the first pub we could find that was open. They do offer vegetarian/vegan mushroom pie which was good. The fish and chips were big enough for my two kids to share. As an added bonus it was an eye opener for my American kids I am English but my kids are born and raised there there could be establishments around for over 300 years
Went there this evening with my son for a belated mother's day meal I had the chicken and mushroom pie and mash, it was delicious my son had the steak on a skewer and chips and it looked scummy his partner had the epping ham egg and chips which also looked tasty, for pudding my son had the ice-cream while I and his partner had homemade apple pie and ice cream which also was excellent, definitely go back again. And very reasonably priced.
Service and food was excellent. The atmosphere was very comfortable. I had the big fish and chips meal and the name certainly does not lie. Would definitely recommend.
It's a trip down to an old Elizabeth's pub , a preserved pub of a bygone era. Everything looks so amazing, Nice collections of lager and ales
A great place, bar staff very friendly and chatty. We had a meal and used my 20% of Defence Discount card so a great saving. The Nando’s style chicken had a kick but still very nice, good selection of beers and overall cheaper than the other local Greene King pubs.
Lovely meal here and staff were very friendly and polite, very well priced too. Good covid measures in place and track and track. Would reccomend.
I had a very nice veggie "sharing" platter to myself. It was only £10.99 so still good price for one main. Service was good, typical pub vibe.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. We booked a family Christmas meal, only to be told that our booking doesn't exist. Even though we booked with a manager in person. This left us with no other options due to all other pubs/restaurants being fully booked on a busy Saturday night. We had family travel for this evening and it was totally RUINED.
Found a hair in one of the mains so it was left untouched and when they took it away their response was "oh sh!t" great response with a table full of kids. Chicken was over cooked. Steak was hard and tough. The side salad was hot. Chips seemed reheated. No offer of a replacement meal nor refund.
