Marlowes Restaurant
"The One Elm was the second pub in the Peach Pubs’ stable. It has long been a stalwart in the Stratford social scene. Our latest refurbishment has added cosy booths and a new log fire up in the Loft and re-paved the courtyard, so it’s the perfect spot to eat, drink and catch up with friends at any time of the year."

Visited having been to a sister pub in group. Celebrating a significant anniversary. Good welcome on arrival, seating area could have been warmer but did warm up. Service was prompt and friendly. Had a problem with the fish dish being excessively bony, but they worked hard to resolve and ended up with a completely fresh dish which was excellent. Generous gift of some wine for our celebration too. We will be back. Thank you.
Lovely plate of food, kudos to the chefs. Pie pastry was spot on, greens not over cooked, mustard mash bang on. Good service from the bar staff - brought us blankets outside and offered to look after our bikes. 10/10 would recommend; a great afternoon in their Courtyard.
Just had a lovely Sunday roast at The One Elm in Stratford-upon-Avon. The meal was delicious. I had the pork and cracking and Julie had the beef cooked medium rare. Plenty of veg, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud. Had side dish of cauliflower cheese and a fantastic stepping with sausage and bacon in. Staff are delightful and attentive. We got seated in the loft area which is very cosy and good music in the background. Offered extra roasties and Yorkshires which was a nice touch. I had a very good IPA. And a pinot for 'me Julie'. Well done to you all at The One Elm. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Options available Parking: Small car park and pay meter broken. Would have had cost refunded anyway so all good.
I arrived in Stratford-upon-Avon late, and the Premier inn couldn't seat me for over 2 hours. What a favour they did me. It must be 6 years since I last ate there, so I called and a very friendly gentleman said I could have a table as soon as I got there. I wasn't disappointed last time, and I certainly wasn't this time either. All the staff were so friendly. The Guinness tastes like it does in Dublin, and only two words can describe the food, absolutely superb. If you haven't been here before, or you haven't been for a while, I urge you to give 'The One Elm' a try. You certainly won't be disappointed! 09/11/22
Delicious food great atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. Prices aren't too bad either. If only we lived closer
Looked for places with a parking space late at night and chanced upon this. Ordered the 14 hour braised beef and ale pie and it didn't disappoint. Had some local ale pure gold and it was smooth as was described by the server. Parking: There's few spaces, but on a weekday late at night, there was only one other car.
We had a fantastic evening at The One Elm in Stratford-upon-Avon for our date night! The place is just off the main little high street and very easy to find. We had a nice, private booth at the back of the restaurant area and it was comfortable and had nice lighting. A gentleman who I believe was the manager recommended us some nice local pints to start. We were offered the specials board, but unfortunately the one we wanted was unavailable so we deferred back to the main menu, but having tasted our choices we were very pleased! The halloumi fries were piping hot and gooey and huge, with a bloody Mary sauce. The chicken wings were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked, with a sweet and sticky sauce and some fresh coriander on top, as well as sliced spring onions to dress. The sauce was delicious and we love coriander so were pleasantly surprised when the wings came out covered in it. We ordered steak for the main, both rare Sirloin on the bone... One with normal fries and one upgraded to chicken poutine. We had one of each of the steak sauces to share - a bearnaise and a peppercorn. The steaks came out with one slightly more medium-rare than the other, however we switched plates I like mine bleeding still and both had a perfect cook for our tastes. The meat was just about perfect in texture, some melt in the mouth parts and the fattier bits weren't too chewy and gelatinous. You could definitely taste the quality of the beef. The only one thing we could say would be that whilst the sear was beautiful, there wasn't much seasoning on the steak itself. The sauces obviously made up for this, so it wasn't a big deal. The fries were golden and crisp, and whilst we wouldn't necessarily have pegged the poutine as a poutine - the roasted chicken covered fries were just right. As for the sauces, I didn't care much for the bearnaise, but I'm not a huge fan anyway. The peppercorn sauce, on the other hand, was absolutely incredible. I've never had such a delicious peppercorn sauce. It was thick, with tons of whole peppercorns and a real kick to it. It was so moreish! We ordered a bottle of wine as recommended on the wine menu by the restaurants somalier, however we were really disappointed with it. It tasted almost like it had a fizz on the tip of the tongue. The manager offered to change it for us, as we did ask if the wine was supposed to taste this way, but we declined as everything else was so perfect we didn't want to cost them the money. We didn't have space for dessert but we ordered some cocktails for after. I tried the banoffee martini and we both had espresso martinis after. They were delicious, just as expected and whilst you can only really have one of the banoffees as they're sweet, I recommend trying one! The waitresses were all very chatty and friendly, the only issue we had bar the wine which was our own choice was that the service on the food was a bit slow. The quality made up for it though, and the service was brilliant. The staff are only too happy to help. We sat in the garden for drinks after, and were not rushed out even after the bell went, the manager was happy to chat to us for a while too which made the experience even more personal. Highly recommended, my rating would have been 4.5 stars but there's no half option, so have a 5, you were very close anyway. : We'll be back next time we visit the beautiful area. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Was visiting the Xmas markets close by, found this lovely pub which had space to sit down. Didn't have any food, just had a nice bottle of fruit cider. I did want some mulled wine, but it wasn't available when I was at that bar‍
Great food, service and ambience. Worth a visit....and they sell Timmie Taylor's Landlord bitter.Food: 5/5
A great vibrant pub/restaurant, staff full of smiles and very helpful. We had a birthday wine voucher so helped with the bill. Food was excellent, the pork dish was delicious. Overall value for money is good given the quality of the food.
