Fancyapint.com Review:
"This friendly locals pub in deepest, darkest E17 is a bit of an institution and another pub in the area known for live music nights. We've heard about it for years, but never managed to get to it. We're glad we finally managed it, as it's definitely one of the better pubs in the area - it's a time capsule with large mirrors on the wall advertising Bass and the old Wenlock Brewing Co. 'Famous ales'. Friendly staff and locals, decent beer (Bass on draught, which we haven't seen in a donkey's age) make it a very pleasant place to sit and read a paper or chill watching the racing or a football match. Worth the trip. Oh, and the pool table is in the beer garden!"

Popped here on the first night of a weekend away with my Girlfriend. Fell in love with the place immediately, we went repeatedly during the stay. The food is among the best we've had, the cocktails and drinks were spot on each time we had plenty to make sure the staff were friendly, chatty and just completely welcoming, particularly Sophie. Hopefully going to actually stay in one of the rooms soon too. Perfect location.
I booked a table for me and my two kids on Christmas eve for dinner well in advance. They called me on the 24th afternoon to double check and all was fine. When we arrived they had no table for us and no one cared and I had to keep going near to the staff get attention. Then I was told they had a small table in a corner which had only two chairs. The manager was there who didn't even look at me let alone saying sorry!! Three of us obviously couldn't sit in that tiny table so we went home. No one even said sorry. Absolutely disgusting.
Came here for an NCT lunch pub quiz. So came for lunch time, they were only doing their lite bites and sandwich menu so no pizzas. The food was good I had the nachos and chilli. Which I've had at their sister pub the retreat and they are good. The pub itself was very welcoming and accommodating, with all the buggies and push chairs it was a little busy but we made it work. The only challenge with the pub was there was no parking that we could see, so had to park a few hundred yards away in the walled garden car park and walk. But on the nice day that it was you couldn't complain. Also at £2 for all day parking it was a bargain. There was a good selection of beer on, although they only had two ales but 5 pumps, but ale is probably drunk a little less now so probably not worth having all the pumps on just to waste beer. Lovely pub, was dog friendly, only drawback was the garden was a little small and right next to the road. Will come back to visit.
Randomly stopped in for a drink and ended up staying for lunch. Chicken club was beautifully made and toasted just how you’d expect. Great portion size. Garlic bread too. Crispy and soft at the same time and so big we had to take half home! Colin keeps the bar clean and tidy and is clearly a seasoned professional! Attentive but not intrusive. Perfect for a lazy Thursday lunch! Didn’t use the hotel but I’m sure it’s just as wonderful. Keep up the great work team!
This is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms are extremely tired and are not reflective of the 10 year old images online. Our first room stunk of drains and was unclean so we moved rooms. The second wasn't any better. Stains on carpets & headboard, unclean room with someone else's razor left in the shower. Tatty broken lampshades, lamps with blown bulbs in, the towels stank, cheap rough toilet paper, dirty cups, rubbish outside window.. the list goes on. After complaining to the hotel they admit the hotel is in desperate need of renovation but will not provide a satisfactory outcome for a very disappointing stay. We will not return and will definitely not recommended.
The Flower Pot is highly recommended! Great welcome from the friendly staff and management. Superb facilities throughout the pub and restaurant. Our room was also very well equipped and comfortable. There was an excellent choice of food and drink. The outside beer garden is also a real sun trap. Located just a stones throw from the river- a fantastic location!
The newbury four we stayed at amazing place for a night we went racing to kempton had a great night went back to pub had fantastic food and a great night's kip a little bit heaven couldn't fault the hole experience well done team flower pot we will be back Rooms: 5/5
Beautiful pub. Recently refurbished to an exquisite standard. Elegant dining room. Tables in bar for drinkers. Very large garden. We didn't see the rooms as they are not available yet but if they are anything like the rest of the pub they will be stunning. Very friendly, informed and likeable staff. We were only looking for something simple to eat so didn't stop for the restaurant menu currently on offer although it looked of a very high standard. Food & drinks: Comprehensive bar. Compact, high quality menu.
Some great beers and good atmosphere. Food's good too!
An excellent find. Not too far out of London and in a quiet neighbourhood. Parking is slightly challenging as you have to find a spot on nearby residential roads which are quite narrow. Don't expect to park outside. We didn't eat there. The room we were in was at the top of the hotel which is a pub and so not too noisy. Quirky room with a tiny door you have to stoop to get through. Access to the rooms is from outside the pub - if wet/cold, remember that as you have to go outside to get to the restaurant area. Maybe not for everyone but we liked it. Right next to the Thames river over a road. You will need a car for this hotel. Rooms: Quirky but nice. Clean, well appointed for a pub/hotel but naturally fairly basic. Safety: Quiet London suburban area, probably quite safe. Walkability: You need a car. Some nice walks by the Thames river and the nearby park and gardens though.
