We return here every once and a while, and when we do we, remember why! The team and food are absolutely next level beats!! Thanks for your hospitality Castle Pub!! The sweet potato and pardon pepper starters were the best in a long time! The meats in our rump steak, pie and monkfish curry were tender, succulent and done to perfection!! Great quality all around!! Parking: Loads of empty road parking bays when we arrived just after 6pm Kid-friendliness: Family friendly and rightly so! Folks work hard and need establishments to let them dine with kiddies
I came here for Sunday roast with some friends and their baby. It was very busy, which also meant it was quite loud. The service was fine and friendly. Food was ok. It was a little bland we all seemed to need extra salt, but despite being a well done roast beef it was still very tender. They did diced parsnips, which I did not enjoy at all and sadly the roast potatoes were dry. But the other trimmings were fine. I would highly recommend booking a table in advance if you want to guarantee a seat. It's located on a residential road and has a little bit of seating outside.
Nice spot! Cozy inside and nice sunny picnic tables out front. I had the Jerk Chicken and it was very enjoyable, especially the cole slaw. Average prices. Very family oriented and lots of kids and strollers in the place. Will definitely be back!
Really friendly staff and great atmosphere. I've only ever been in for Sunday lunch and it gets very busy, so worth booking! Nice choice of drinks with a lovely beer garden out the back. Very family friendly so there's usually a lot of kids on a Sunday, just FYI! Dog friendly I think too.
Sunday roasted one of my favourites!! We have a lovely lunch on Sunday on the beer garden at the back. Food was quick and delicious. The have a good range in beer. Service is lovely too!! Best places in Walthamstow!
Lovely atmosphere, a great family vibe, too. We arrived late ish in the day, Sunday around 4ish, roasts were running low ...pork gone. We had chicken and beef. Nice food except potatoes tasted and felt like they hadn't been par boiled first so not fluffy and crispy, just hard and a touch earthy. Oh, and I got 1 piece of carrot not a whole one... just one piece . Undecided as to whether we'd return.
Used to love this Pub and went frequently. They now do not accept cash, I know it's the trend, but it's inconvenient. Staff, cold fish, toilets ,dirty food portions smaller at higher prices. Structurally, it's quite a nice pub
Great pub, didn't eat but the food I saw go past looked delicious. Especially on weekends, it's a foodie pub, so not much room for social drinks as every table's taken. But a busy pub is better than a dead quiet one, anyway. Staff are ace. Kid-friendliness: Very relaxed about kids of all ages, mind you my kids have been raised going to pubs, so they know how to behave.
Despite wondering briefly it we'd stepped into a creche instead of a pub, enjoyed my first visit. Sat outside, service was good, food was great! Will definitely return and would certainly recommend
Food is absolutely delicious, need to book & need to be really hungry, big servings. Nice friendly atmosphere, staff very efficient & friendly.
