I don’t often write reviews but thought it was deserved today. I get sent by my work to take cars for Mot. Rather than standing in the workshop I walk down to the Devon for a bite to eat. I can understand opening the doors to people must be an arduous task but when open at 12 always greeted nicely. Today the chef hadn’t turned up and another on the way last minute. Greeted by the manager who I now know is called “John” who took it on his own back to cook my food. Top job, food was great and really appreciate the effort ! Made it back in my timescale. Spot on
Good quality food and Amazing value! Good customer service and the staff work really hard and we appreciate your work, thanks guys!Food: 5/5
The food was delicious although the table that we were placed at wasnt pleasant, it was covered in graffiti which was really off putting and we felt like we was in the way of people passing by. This made us feel uncomfortable when trying to relax and enjoy ourselves. Another downfall was the staff gave off a blunt vibe, they were very friendly or welcoming, stern faced and no manners.
Love this place, didn't eat on my last visit but enjoyed a drink. The beer is well kept, and the staff are friendly and efficient ! Pricing is competitive, and the ambience is relaxed. Overall a great British establishmentFood: 5/5
Nothing was great, far from it...I had 1 drink and left. The bar area lounge was stacked with empty glasses and used plates and cutlery. The whole pub needs a face-lift, it looks like a rundown community centre at best. Seems to me people either don't care or can't ve bothered anymore. I wouldn't recommend this pub to anyone, let alone take friends/family there......it really is that bad.
We had our first meal here last night, a busy Friday night. We ordered the nachos sharer as our starter and wasn't impressed with these, they were soft, stale and lacked flavour. Presentation was good though but for the cost they were poor value. Our main meals was a surf and turf and garlic prawns, these were much better, if I could fault the prawns I think there was too many but I love prawns. The steak was just the right size and cooked perfectly. The new menu is refreshing and I will definitely eat here again, normally I come here on a Saturday evening for the music as the pub itself is the best one locally.
The food, drinks. value for money and service was exceptional and I am looking forward to the new February menu. The only thing that was slightly embarrassing for both me and the staff was ordering through Groupon as there was no connection from the order and the till and the staff really struggled, this is the second establishment where we had this problem, the Painted Lady was the same, please make the Groupon system as easy as the Sizzler 40% offer to operate.
Was in over Xmas. Christmas day was busy but the girls worked hard to keep the queue time minimal. Boxing day entertainment was excellent. New year's eve was the highlight - the theme the food, the people just everything. The staff really do care about the customers they are 5*Food: 5/5
I found the staff an the atmosphere an the staff to be very friendly an polite the food was amazing especially mary
On Saturday 27/01/24 I visited with a group of girls of which were friends and work colleagues for a birthday and leaving party the pub was chosen by one of the girls . I live in Nuneaton and 60 years old being the ‘old biddy’ I only stayed an hour and forty minutes. The pub definitely has a good atmosphere and although I never ate there I have heard the food is great and thought I might try it with my family for a meal. However, I have received a £100 parking fine! I am extremely upset I have since heard about a computer at the bar, I didn’t attend the bar but wouldn’t have known what to do. The notice I have does say that there is signage but I didn’t see it. Maybe because I was nervous travelling alone at night time everyone else used taxis. I cannot tell you the anxiety this has caused me.
