I have to give this place 4.5 stars. Not everyone in our group was happy with their meal, but all in all, it was a great evening. The service was excellent. The drinks came out quick and were made well. The place is so nice inside with lots of seating, both in the bar area and the restaurant part. Nice sized car park too. Highly recommend.
Bit hit and miss in places. Went here for our wedding anniversary. Meat, gravy,Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese were excellent, but carrots were overdone, broccoli was underdone and potatoes were ok. On the other hand puddings were gorgeous and service was top quality. Would come again but would like to try the weekday menu. Good effort but needs improvement
My experience at this pub is positive and would come bck You do order drinks and food at the bar after grabbing table outside or inside. Our for was brought to us after 15 minutes of wait The food tasted good and what we ordered we would order again, next time I will order fish and chips because the portion was massive and cod fish was fresh. the sit outside was comfortable We did not like the fact that we had to go and fetch forks and knifes to eat a meal especially when wasps flyingaroundand try to get the food that is on the plate basically lady that brought our meals should also bring cutler but this is how they serve food here I need to get up and get it yourself !?. I do prefer to sit outside and wait for waitres to come and take order and complete the whole procedure while I enjoy my cold beer..... My Guinness wasn't in genuine Guinness glass and tested a bit watery and the taste just wasn't there, perhaps it was from the bottom of the barrel? toilet was clean at 5pm before we left food 4/5 drink 3/5 serve 3/5 toilet 5/5 15:4=3.75 so will give 4 stars Thank you.
Has a good size car park although next to a busy road there is not much noise from traffic. Large outdoor seating area with lots of tables, although some could use some TLC. Food tasted ok and portion size was reasonable. Drinks are a little pricey £5.50 a pint! Requested a Gluten free menu but this was not an option advised they would serve the burger without a bun and onion rings to ensure its gluten free, however symptoms were felt shortly after. Overall if you have no dietary requirements I would recommend on a nice day
I recently visited the Cuckoo Pub for a quick lunch and had an average dining experience. I ordered a cod fish finger sandwich, but was disappointed to find that it lacked sauce, making it a bit dry. I was also expecting some lettuce or greenery to be in the sandwich, but it did not have any. The service I received was okay, but not quite as attentive as I was hoping for. Despite these shortcomings, the Cuckoo Pub is still a decent place to grab a bite to eat. However, improvements could be made to the food and service to enhance the overall dining experience for customers.
This is our 4th visit... the staff are lovely and friendly.... our 3rd visit wasn't great at all the food wasn't good... however as we had 2 previously that were really nice we tried a sunday roast. meat was cooked lovely only thing i would suggest is i had 4 slices of beef... my husband had the trio of meats and literally only got 1slice of each which was small and the roast potatoes needed more roasting. other than that our server was Jordan who was very attentive and had good customer service.
Me and my fiancé went here for our valentines lunch, absolutely beautiful oldie pub. The food was incredible, definitely 5 stars. Highly recommend to visit. Will definitely be back
The standard is way low when I came few years ago… we had a prawn cocktail with overripe avocado brown ish, I had a beef bourguignon which was okay, but the mash wasn’t good, I had a dumpling on top which was rock-hard solid. Service wasn’t great as well, we could see the waiter struggling to get everything done, but lack of employees for busy Thursday night was quite clear. It’s a shame.. Disappointing, I’m not coming back.
Love this place. The feel of the place is warm & cosy. Staff are friendly. You will get a service second to none from the bar to the servers. The food was perfect. Honestly, I couldn't recommend this place enough. THANK YOU THE CUCKOO FOR AN AWESOME NIGHT
Staff were welcoming and very friendly. Great atmosphere. Clean. Very accommodating. Great food. Food presented well and very nice. Booked for 11 people with no problems. 1 party member ordered the 3 meat roast,but there was no beef...but it was later in the day,so to be expected..would of been nice to be offered 2 meat roast, as the other 2 meats were available for separate dinners. All in all a great pub to eat.
