Needs to be more professional. There are quite few issues to fix to improve the experience. Firstly the tap was so powerful in our room it would spray over the toilet onto the door and onto the tiles with the slightest adjustment. Rather than fixing the power on the tap their solution was to write a notice saying to open very carefully whjich still doesn't guarantee that it won't spray everywhere whixh isn't relaxing. The other issue is that all the door slam shut very loudly which doesn't create a relaxing atmosphere and ity loudly than other hotels I have stayed at. This also created an issue for us as we were next to the staff room in the second floor which would slam shut when ever used and vibrate the wall our bed was backed onto and then having staff rushing down/up the stairs. Not a great experience. There is also not a lot of storage in the room. Just hanging space and 1 shelf. With a trunk but this is filled with an extra duvee and pillows. We also had someone being interviewed by the manager in the resteraunt behind us when eating breakfast not really what you want to hear on a relaxing break and probably not good for the job seeker. Also when it snowed the Car park was not gritted or attempted to be cleared for 1day which meant their were patches of sheet ice. Luckily I didn't hurt myself when I fell on my back cleaning the Car. Padded winter jacket helped with that. Also the managers use tables in the restaurant for working from rather than in a registration/booking area. On the plus side the hotel is nicely decorated and the breakfast was good would give 4.5 out of 5 for this. An option on Cumberland or spicier sausage wou of give a 5. Bacon was fantastic. Would put some pepper in the mushroom. My taste though. Poached eggs were very well done. Evening food was good probably 4/5. My caq au vin could have done with more punch. Would I go back - no. However it could be a very good hotel when they fix the above issues.
Had a really fantastic lunch here, the service was top notch. The beer was delicious and great selection. Conservatory was a lovely location to eat. Couldn't say a bad word about it
Fantastic place and great service !! It took a bit long to get the pie out, but I suppose it always does.. we will definitely go back...
Very clean and well decorated. Excellent food and helpful staff. Room would have been nicer with a wardrobe or somewhere to hang clothes. Breakfast was a little slow but worth the wait. Other B&Bs should take note of their generous breakfast hours of 7.30-11 I honestly feel some places finishing breakfast at 9.30 are thinking about themselves not their customers so well done Mill Street Pub and Kitchen
What a fantastic little piece of paradise! The people working there are going out of their way for you to have an amazing time! Stayed there for 6 days and we had a fantastic stay! Good food both for breakfast and dinner. We used the private dining and it was perfect. Also they rooms where really nice and clean! Thank you and hope to see you all again soon. BR from Mr Heineken from Norway!
Great place to eat with the emphasis on freshly cooked food. I strongly recommend the slow cooked Pork. My wife's burger was succulent and tender and she loved the garnish. Son really enjoyed his freshly made Soup of the day and Chicken. Service is attentive. The menu is excellent and varied so it caters for all tastes. There is a nice drinks menu with all your favourite Cocktails. The mixologist made a couple very nice Virgin Colada's for my son and wife. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with varied eating rooms. One of the rooms is dedicated to a very personal dining experience similar to a chef's table. This is a real gem with excellent quality food and 7 Bedrooms all decorated to the highest quality.
The staff were great and attentive. The food a little bland...that could be me because I'm used to spicy dishes. The food was well presented and hot. The fries were over salted before I received them, you can't take salt off but you can add it just a thought
We had some delicious cocktails here! I drank mine five times faster than my friends they were soooo nice so the experience became a bit of a blur! They were reasonably priced. The decor is lovely. There were children milling around quite happily. The staff were friendly and efficient. We did not order food.
Great little place when you want something a little more than the average pub grub. Dogs allowed in certain areas. Puddings to die for. Friendly staff
Lovely decor but on Sunday Lunch it was virtually empty. The staff were very attentive at first but we had to ask to have our plates cleared and had to ask six times for a jug of water. The initial member of staff was very welcoming but the service went down hill from then on. The food was excellent but I would suggest they drop their prices and serve smaller portions as we both left food.
