Very good. Came here for a meal with my partner, and we were made to feel very welcome. All good that we had was of a good quality, and prepared fresh to order. Starters were presented very well, with lots of good flavour. The desserts were absolutely incredible as well, with all highly recommended. Staff are on point, very friendly and helpful.
A tough one to review.... Positives: Friendly staff Nice food mostly Reasonably priced Negatives Service time - very slow Attention to detail - often forgetting things and having to ask. Food - some staples I would have expected on the menu missing and some food overly complicated. I will also say having visited before pre-pandemic I do feel like the menu has not improved if anything it's a little less special.
Our first visit to this intriguingly named pub, and it was very well worth it. A lovely old building two actually with a great old fashioned bar and several 'quirky' rooms for eating. The menu was extensive, innovative and very reasonably priced by and large, and the food a delight - properly prepared and cooked by a chef who knows what he's doing. Real ale selection was a bit limited, but good pints nonetheless. A mistake in our bill was quickly and politely rectified, so all in all we'd certainly recommend this as a slightly upmarket, but unpretentious pub where you can really eat well.
Went for dinner last night with my daughter. All good. Food was nice but was room for improvement. Never seen Gravlax served in chunks before. Still worth a visit. Charming little pub.
Visited on 21st December to celebrate my 77th birthday with a family party ranging from 3years old to me. Rob and the staff went over and above to make sure we had a special evening. Thank you so much....see you again soon.
Our family group of 19 people had Sunday lunch at this inn last Sunday. The whole experience was brilliant. Some of us had 3 courses, some 2 which we pre-booked. All the food was delicious - freshly cooked and served hot as appropriate and there was plenty of it! The staff were very friendly and efficient. I would thoroughly recommend Jackson Stops!
Fantastic always. Cannot fault the food. The owners and service is amazing. If it is a special occasion, please let Jackson Stops know, as they will ensure this is noted. My boyfriend is in a wheelchair and they couldn't be more helpful to help me in with him
One of our regular haunts when in Rutland. A quaint country pub/restaurant. The restaurant has an excellent, varied menu which is cooked and presented at Michelin star standards and quality. The personal service provided enhances the whole experience. Prices are not out of this world, even though the food is pretty close to being!
Nothing quite like it really. A very, very good restaurant set in an old country house/pub with small rooms with four to five tables each. Fireplaces in most of them, and a very cozy atmosphere. You are greeted in the bar area as you first go in, and then you are taken to your table. Very professional and caring staff, food was incredible. Prices are amazing for what you get, and it's definetly worth booking in advance.
Great food & service. We've been before and it's always very good.
