A beautiful establishment which was warm and welcoming. The fires were lit and the decorations gave it a lovely festive feel. We had a delicious lunch in the restaurant and the service was superb. We were meeting up with friends we hadn’t seen for ages and sat for about 4 hrs with no sense of being hurried. Look forward to going back soon.
Just fantastic, lovely hotel we had some great walks. Cafeteria coffee in the room with real milk, friendly ad helpful staff. Great ales but very best of all was the food, it was excellent as was the service. Two of the best meals we have had. Perfect couple of days. Thank you.
We came here for a post-walk Sunday lunch. It was a really good value for the quality of cooking, but not massive portions which worked for us. My fiancé got the nut roast and I got the fish and chips. Would definitely recommend coming for the food and atmosphere. I think the staff could have been a bit nicer and more welcoming but overall good food at a nice pub.
This place is in a great location. And beautifully decorated. The food is of good quality but quite expensive. Very disappointed when we visited for lunch yesterday that the service was so poor. Very slow, inattentive and unfriendly. Shame as it spoilt the whole experience. l

Went for a birthday lunch as one of our favourite venues with amazing views and delicious food. This visit was slighlty marred by an unfriendly waitress such a shame Food & drinks: Delicious food

We went for a meal at 8.30 pm they were very busy with a family function on but still excellent service. Very young team on but customer service second to none. Steak was cooked to perfection and staff were so friendly and accommodating especially Mark who went out of his way to answer questions about the tree we were sitting under. Also good wine list. We will be back and thank you .
Love this place. Garden is lovely in summer, overlooking res. Hambleton is one of the most beautiful villages, circular walk from The finch's towards water and back along lane takes about 1.5 hoursService: 3/5
