Amazed at our honest friendly service. Clearly the company isn’t funding the staff needed but all that aside. We had a lovely family meal. The manager whom I believe was called Hugh and our waitress Lucy were fantastic. Not our first time visiting and certainly won’t be our last. Thank you for a lovely meal!
Just back from our "Valentines Special" at the Chequers, Redbourn. The food was tasty, served promptly and we really enjoyed it - very good value. Scarlet and Hugh looked after us really well. Service was attentive, but not "in your face" The Restaurant could have been greedy and overbooked as this was a "Special" Day, but bookings had obviously been well spaced so they were not overstretched. Very impressed.
Food was delicious, service was friendliest around. Amazing value for money for the area. Definately coming back and telling all my friends to try it out.
Polite, friendly and helpful service. Really nice looking restaurant with a refreshingly original menu and our meal was delicious. Mushroom starter and Gammon main We spent a very enjoyable and relaxing 90 minutes and look forward to going back soon.
Tired on the outside but don't worry. The warmest of welcome inside. Barman, front of house, waiter and all round nice guy. Gave a great atmosphere and he says he would rather rush around. Than put the kitchen under pressure. I was so impressed, only fish and chips but these were great chips, great fish and mouthwatering mushy peas. Highly recommended.

Excellent! Good pub food and great service. Proper portions, if I'm ordering dessert, I'm not counting calories and the sticky toffee pudding didn't disappoint!
Very good food but for us very slow service - a long wait for our food. Most attractive place though.
Warm starters which were taken off the bill, staff too busy talking at the bar to offer table service drinks. Bought wrong drink and when taken back was questioned that it was not wrong, snatched off the bar and replaced begrudgingly, need a lesson in customer service will not returning. In a practically empty restaurant the food should be hot and more attention paid to clients
