I was barred from this public House for no reason. The landlady was not very nice she was aggressive and she said to me that I was barred from being in the public House. They have a good dj who plays music, which was great. But unfortunately the landlady was not very nice she had no idea of how she made me feel. They were a bit of a bad atmosphere because of other people who were in the public House the evening time I was with my friend who was absolutely devastated when I told her what had happened with me on Friday night on the 3rd of November 2023.
Went to this establishment for the first time in years last night; they've got a good selection of bottled beers, but I cannot understand, in this day and age, why it's "cash only" and not accept cards. Given the price of drinks these days, would you carry cash if you know you're going to buying a round of drinks for friends?
After many years living in East london and walking past this pub ,l stopped to have a drink in bootlaces for the first time , this is a real old school pub with lots of local people having a good time, this pub reminds me of how pubs used be, growing up in hackney l really miss this type of pub , good service , friendly staff and very funny customers , l will be back.
I loved this pub. The staff is very kindly and people who frequent this place are friendly.
Saturday night the pub was pretty busy. Everyone seemed friendly. Plenty of staff so no waiting to be served. Clean toilets. New DJ PLAYED pretty good mix of music.. few people danced as small space. Overall I had a good evening. Cab office 50 yards away so felt safe leaving late. Will return.
My midweek mid-December visit was good. Place was quiet, apart from the too loud Christmas music, but single member of staff was genuine and friendly. The other half dozen customers seemed to be very comfortable and drinks were reasonably priced, or would be if it weren't for the cheap chain acrid the road!. If have to come again in an evening before being able to judge properly but I'd definitely be willing to
i don't know what it's like since it re opened & new management took over, but it is a really small pub, there never used to be much in the way of entertainment before the new owners took it over, downside was it closed early, at 9pm so that just proves it wasn't that good then, i will update this review once iv re visited it again to see if it has changed,
Great atmosphere and great staff. First visit here and had the best night in a long time. Thanks to the owner James and his mum for making our night a night to remember
Pity no draught bitter.Service: 5/5
A very friendly bar with good service and now have started hot meals at lunch time
