On a positive note, the menu offered a variety of options, and the dishes we ordered were well-prepared, though nothing particularly memorable. If the service had been more attentive, the experience would have been much more enjoyable. The hotel facilities were great, and the rest of the staff were friendly and professional. However, the negative interaction with Richard overshadowed what could have been a flawless stay.
We have stayed at a serviced apartment of the Hotel. The rooms were tidy and nicely furnished, just the right mixture of vintage style and modern comfort. Very good a/c. Housekeeping was great, providing excellent cleaning and even doing our dishes. Can't complain about location, either. You'd be hard pushed to find a better one. Harrods is literally next door, very good access to public transport. Only reception seemed a bit clueless anytime we scarcely used their services. The lady who showed us our room led us to the wrong floor. She said we had to use the stairs down from the elevator when it would have been easier by far and obvious to just exit the elevator at the correct floor. When asked if housekeeping was included, they did not know !. They sent replacement towels after we had used the ones provided, but then housekeeping arrived a bit later to service the room anyway. It took them several attempts to prepare the bill at check-in and check-out. Not the end of the world, but certainly no five-star performance. In the end a pleasurable experience nonetheless.
One of London's more unique and exclusive hotels that provides a faultless service in a small and peaceful environment. Just excellent. And they have the most beautiful Door Staff to greet you. Her name is Louisa. I'm certainly going back.Rooms: 5/5
My first time staying here and if I’m honest you’ll have a quieter sleep if you stay on the runway at Heathrow airport. I was gutted to say the least, I know rooms in London typically are smaller as your paying for the location but a shoebox would be larger then this, so I was already a little displeased. But I’d traveled over 5 hours and by the time I arrived it was late and I wanted to go out for food. The interior is just same as most hotels these days, same dark vintage/contemporary vibes, no wow factor, but again I booked to sleep here, not for the interior design. Before I even slept I noticed a constant loud drone noise accompanied with a loud clunking every 10 mins or so, I found very quickly this was from the exceptionally old air conditioner, I tried to turn it down to a bearable decibel, which in itself is not good. I want utter silence, at most, a peaceful light hum from an air con. But this sounded like a jet was taking off. But because I had turned the noise down it ment the room temp increased so I was then uncomfortable from the heat, which I very very rarely say somthing is to hot. its room 220 for reference, weather it’s faulty or what I have no idea. After hours of travelling I needed peace. I had places to be the day after and needed to be well rested. I was not. I was not only late to meetings but I was exceptionally tiered and to top it off I had to drive back that same day, another 5 hours while drained. The staff who did get the things I requested where good, I asked for additional pillows and ice and this was very quickly brought to me, so I can not fault the staff, but the building is tiered. It needs a revamp, and a new lift, I genuinely thought it had broken down it is that slow. So service 10/10 the hotel -100
Absolutely wonderful!! The room was beautiful and spacious enough for all of my needs. The location was great, being steps from Harrods and the Tube making any London area extremely easy to get to. The best part of the hotel was the staff. The concierge, housekeeping, and bellmen were the best I've ever experienced. As a young woman I've never been treated as great as I have been at the Capital Hotel. I could not recommend staying here enough. I can't wait to come back and visit.
We enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the Capital. The afternoon tea was great, and the scones were exceptionally good!!! Not only were they baked for the right time, they were also being served at the right time temperature. They were among the best 3 we had in the UK. Luz made our afternoon tea experience even better as she was very cheerful and also attentive. She offered to change our tea seeing the ‘fading’ in the colour after the second round.
Stayed here with my 9 year old son on the 5th and 6th of October 2023. There were 7 of us. My parents were staying for a longer duration in the main hotel building. Whereas both my sisters, my brother in law, and me and my son were staying in a different building, maybe the townhouse one. Our rooms were more contemporary and not the old style like in the main hotel. The bed was comfortable, clean, and although the room was small, it contained everything one needed, from a hairdryer, to a safe, nespresso machine, mini fridge, and iron + stand nearly stashed away in the cupboard. The bathroom was clean and functional although small. Amenities were ok. This building does not have a 24/7 front desk attendant, but one is there for fixed working hours during the day. One can easily go next door to the main hotel to address any issues. My flight was leaving early and I had to leave the room at 4 am, but the concierge was very helpful and helped bring my bags down and everything. Location is right next to Harrods and many restaurants. It is busy but very convenient. The room was quiet which was a good thing.
My family and I stayed here just before Christmas and I cannot say enough about this wonderful little gem!!! The location is amazing however it’s the staff and attention to detail that enhanced our stay!! Everyone we encountered was just SO accommodating and friendly! We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a sitting area and it was just perfect!! We enjoyed having our coffee in the room each morning and then talking about our day in the evening!! It was wonderful that we could all be together and not in separate rooms!! I highly recommend this hotel while you are in London!!!

if you’re looking for an authentic London experience with fantastic service, this is the place for you. I stayed two nights in the deluxe king room and it was a truly great experience! From the moment that I arrived to the moment that I left, the staff was extremely friendly and professional! They made you feel like you’ve been coming back for years! I spoke with many other hotel guests, whom were all recurring guests for years! I travel a lot for work and I’ve never had an entire staff be as pleasant and truly accommodating as the folks have been! I stayed in the deluxe king room and it was very clean, tidy, with and old English vibe! The hotel has been there for many years and it has a certain charm you just can’t get at modern hotels. From the smallest details such as the original hardware, furniture, and decor, you can tell they have preserved the originality and personality of the hotel. They also have THE ABSOLUTE BEST SCONES I’ve ever had and probably all of London you can enjoy with your afternoon tea! Dinner at the well designed modern restaurant was excellent! The location is also one of the reasons I chose this hotel. You are so close to Harrods and so many shops around that it’s truly convenient. If this is your first time to London and you’re considering staying here know that you’ll be well taken care of and will not want to stay anywhere else after your visit. I’ve already booked my second stay and will be my go to stay in London from now on.
