About The Bull
This ancient stone built building dates back to the 17th century. In its time it has been an Inn, a farm and a dairy. Like all buildings of this age it also has it’s fair share of ghosts. Be always on the lookout for the lady in grey!
About the food
We Love to serve Traditional British Pub food and we take great pride in making the dishes the best they can be and still great value for money! We also have a Specials board which changes weekly and can be a real treat!
We believe that to achieve great food you only need to look on your doorstep. So with that in mind we have chosen where possible to source our ingredients from local suppliers who share the same passion for quality as we do.
Where possible we use our home grown seasonal fruit, herbs and vegetables from our own allotment to the rear of the pub. Our friendly and cheeky gardener Rockie does an incredible job for us and keeps everything in order – if you have a spare minute pop round to have a look or a chat, if only to give him a chance for a breather.
Our butchers are Barlett and Sons of Bath and Bristol Meat Trader, they both deal in locally sourced, succulent, farm assured meats ensuring their products are of the best quality. All of their meat is prepared using traditional butcher methods and they mature their beef for over 21 days to ensure we get the most tender and succulent steak possible. As well as providing lamb, pork and bacon they also manufacture their own sausages on the premises providing us with the best quality sausages in the area.
Our Fishmonger Wing of St. Mawes(Cornwall) is a small family run company with over 30years experience. We source all our fish from mussels, cod, scallops, plaice, sole, prawns and lobsters from Wing daily. They care passionately about sustainable sourcing and deliver to us every night after the fish is caught in the morning.
Our eggs are from our 18 lovely Hens which can be found to the rear of the pub, they are lovely characters and lay some exceptional eggs for our Ham, Egg and Chips!
When we can’t source produce from our garden we use A-DAVID of Bristol which has over 50 years experience. They care as passionately as us about the provenance and locality of produce and over the years has amassed a large number of local growers who are incredibly passionate and dedicated to what they do.
We use Marshfield Farm ice cream which is truly amazing luxury ice cream and sorbet. They are just 5minutes up the road so you can’t get more local than that.
We love our little customers just as much as our fully grown ones! So with that in mind we have created a children’s menu that is full of tasty dishes just like the main menu. If your child would like something that’s not on the menu please just ask and we will do our very best to do it for you!
How lucky we are to have such great local suppliers and producers to share with you. We hope you will think our efforts to source the best produce is worthwhile.
