Have just finished a delicious Steak here with the family.  This is a proper pub with a warm atmosphere, delightful regulars and fantastic staff.  The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the menu has something for every palate. Can't wait to come back. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Went to this lovely friendly and warm welcoming pub, for a Sunday Roast, you really need to book! it is smaller than it looks, but well worth the visit.  The food was hot and very tasty, and so was the pudding.  We arrived over an hour early, but was fitted in, even though they were busy.  It was very cosy and warm, very clean and tidy.  They have a car park, I would recommend this pub.  Look forward to returning

We visited The Anchor for Sunday lunch to celebrate our granddaughters birthday.  Really good food , lovely atmosphere. Will definitely come back .

If I could give this establishment (if it an even be called so) less than one star I would! My partner and I walked into the anchor inn to be immediately greeted with hostility and rude commentary. We were instantly and angrily approached by an older woman and told that food was not being served at the time and when we asked if we could wait for service she barked at us once more, proclaiming “NOT WITHOUT DRINKS!!” Begrudgingly, we ordered two soft drinks and sat at a table awaiting dinner service to start.. None of the staff acknowledged us and we received daggers from the woman behind the bar who originally spoke (yelled) to us. We sat in this outdated, run down pub for nearly 45 minutes with not so much as a pleasant glance our way!! We eventually and ultimately walked out after a (seemingly) local couple were seated and put in orders immediately after walking in, whilst we remained ignored!! If you are not a local do not bother giving this place your time or money!!

I would say this pub has very good points but  bad points as well. The choice of ales and lager are good and if you like ales then come here as the landlord changes the ales frequently with new stuff.  It was busy. Landlord was an old style landlord, knows his stuff as has been in the game for a long time but gets very sensitive when you question the beer. Whilst me and my friend drank there he proceeded to stare at us the whole time we were there so felt a bit awkward. Essentially it would be hard for this pub to improve as the landlord doesn't like any criticism and is over sensitive.
