The Boot

About

Built in 1739, The Boot is a cosy, traditional English country pub restaurant.

Story

We serve food in the bar and restaurant areas and both offer the same menu and service.

Once you arrive at The Boot, you need not move a muscle!
Our team of enthusiastic Front of House staff are happy to cater for your every need.
During the cold months, we fire up our log burner, situated in the traditional bar area.

We are able to reserve tables in this area for lunch and for those with four legged friends accompanying them, but do not recommend diners in this area in the evening if you are looking for a ‘dining experience’. We are a country pub restaurant welcoming guests who enjoy a drink… or two!

We are proud to offer our Daily Specials board, featuring inspirational dishes designed and created by our team of enthusiastic and experienced chefs.
We use local produce where possible and are happy to recommend dishes and answer any questions you may have. Our team insists on trying everything before we put it on our delicious menu!!

Had my first meal here and it was a nice surprise. The menu had some great vegetarian options. I ate the pork and black pudding scotch egg with some pickled beetroot and onion condiment. The egg had a perfect golden yellow runny centre. Delicious. For main I had the Sea bass from the specials board. That was nice. And for dessert a great selection of mini cakes, where one was warm and the ice cream creamy. I will definitely go back and try some of the vegetarian options. (Only thing I would change is the design of the menu)

Good pub, nice food (felt the chef tried hard to liven up pub food, did a good job too), smiling staff always pleasant, nice location, outside area caters brilliantly for kids - big pat on the back for that. Probably the best family friendly pub we've been to in the area. Little gem.

Knew The Boot had a good reputation but didn't realise just how good it was. Sunday lunch today was exceptional, with delicious food, beautifully presented. Terrific service, lovely atmosphere and genuinely dog (and people) friendly. Great experience and looking forward to next visit

Excellent country pub for a sunny day. They serve the pub classics food really well. I’ll definitely be back when British Sun is out again!
