I'm of an age where the word "hospitality" was used to refer to what you got in a pub. Now we talk about "atmosphere", it's got a good atmosphere, we say. In this pub, the serving staff are offering good old fashioned hospitality, in chirpy buzzing atmosphere. You really feel that when they say "Enjoy your meal", that it's because they want you to and not because someone told them to. They were quick, efficient, responsive and obliging. We were looking for somewhere new to go within 20 mins drive and I'm really glad we found the Artichoke, although I don't like artichokes one bit. Could you change the name to the Asparagus, please? Food was very good, too.

Nice pub. Eaten here a few times at varies times of the day/week. Food has been very good each time. Service at the bar can be slow at times but the staff are polite and professional. Would recommend this pub.

cosy and charming. Food delicious too. been for Sunday lunch as well as breakfast. both very good. Best bit is that we can take our dog inside!!

Tasty food, with massive portions and a good selection of dishes. Possibly at the upper end of the price bracket for pub food, but they do make decent grub.

After hearing some less than favourable reviews, I was slightly apprehensive when I visited with friends. But it was all very good!! So much so we've been back again!
