Perfectly nice pub. This pub has something for everyone. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a very big menu with lots of choices for all. The food was good too. Great outdoor area. Lovely shed pods. They also had an outdoor pizza truck. Children and dogs well looked after but this is a deceptively big pub, so plenty of room to sit quietly as a couple of you want to in the bar or restaurant areas.
I've been there on the restaurant's 10 years anniversary.nThey had live music and an £10 pizza offer.nWe had some starters and pizza. I enjoyed the starters, but the pizza, unfortunately, wasn't that great. But that could be because it was very busy that day.nI would like to return and try again before deciding on the quality.nThe staff was polite and welcoming.
The Iced lattes were okayish, the Mushroom Risotto and The Garlic Bread with Mozzarella were top notch but the shares platter of prawns and Satay was a let down, the chicken Satay was stiff and the prawns weren't juicy either, they can surely improve on the price point as well. I ended up spending close to 50 pounds for a Dinner. The atmosphere is really good, nice sense of music, fantastic staff members, took the last order at 9 PM & the decor is praiseworthy. However, they should seriously consider providing some discount coupons in the weekdays on the mains considering the competitors have got a better pricing.
They say that you eat with your eyes, and if that were true, we would have had a great time at the Bletchingley Arms. This is a lovely pub and we orderd a 'mountain' of ribs, satay chicken and lollipop prawns. We were certainly impressed when the food arrived. It all looked delicious. I dived into the ribs and that's when reality kicked in. They were completely tasteless. Boiled to make them tender but they were robbed of any flavour. That's what happens when you boil ribs. Good ribs should still have a bit of bite to them and not be falling off the bone. These were some of the worst ribs I've ever had. The satay chicken was equally as bland and the peanut sauce, despite its best efforts, couldn't rescue the dull, rubbery chicken. The prawns were OK but still not particularly tasty. This experience was a classic style over substance effort. It doesn't matter if the food looks great if it doesn't taste of anything. A real shame, as we hoped to come back. My partner was hoping to come back for a game of darts one day but with food this dull, I think we will look elsewhere.
Beautiful pub in a wonderful scenic area of the UK. However the food was pretty terrible. Looked lovely but looks definitely can be deceiving. I had the ribs and they were completely bland and tasteless. My partner had the beef burger which was totally overcooked and bland. The food was very bad value for money as it was over priced for what we got. If you’re just going for a drink, the place is totally fine!
