Story

When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Surrey's favourite carvery restaurant.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and discomfort with the experience my partner and I had at your establishment on Monday, the 6th of May, during our booked dinner reservation at 7:30 PM.nnUpon arriving at Toby Carvery, Red Hill, we were immediately met with an unpleasant incident that tarnished what was supposed to be a family dinner outing. While in the smoking area outside the front entrance, members of your staff engaged in unprofessional behavior by flirting with my partner in a manner that made him feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.nnSpecifically, your staff member made inappropriate remarks about my partner's appearance, commenting on his attractiveness and asking intrusive questions about our personal lives, such as whether he had a king-size bed. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable and created a hostile environment for us as customers.nnWhen I confronted the staff members involved, they not only denied any wrongdoing but also dismissed my concerns in a patronizing manner, attempting to gaslight the situation by suggesting that my partner's discomfort was merely a figment of my imagination.nnAs a customer, I am deeply disturbed by the lack of professionalism displayed by your staff members. Not only is it inappropriate for employees to engage in flirtatious behavior with customers, especially in a public area where families are present, but it is also concerning that they would attempt to manipulate the situation when confronted about their actions.nnI strongly urge you to investigate this matter thoroughly, including reviewing any security camera footage that may have captured the incident. Additionally, I request that appropriate disciplinary action be taken against the staff members involved to ensure that such behavior does not occur again in the future.nnIt is my sincere hope that you will take this complaint seriously and take the necessary steps to address the issue promptly. As a longtime patron of Toby Carvery, I am disappointed by this experience and hope that you will take the necessary measures to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future
We arrived an hour earlier than booked time. The server was helpful and kind, said our table was ready we could sit and have drinks until the Carvery was ready. We chose Raspberry Woo Woo cocktails as I was celebrating my birthday and my parents wanted to treat me for a meal out. Toby Carvery ,Redhill in particular was my only choice as we have eaten a few times and both food and service have never failed to impress us.nSophie, our server came and told us it was ready, shortly after 11.30am if we were ready. She was fabulous throughout. When we went to Carvery counter, we met chef Andras. He was funny and joking with us. This truly may seem small, but actually made my day. Every piece of meat and veg I ate was beautiful and tasty. After having some Raspberry Woo Woo cocktails, we needed some hearty food. All your staff we encountered were polite, helpful and smiling. Sophie gave us fantastic service and Chef Andras was super funny and made me laugh and smile. Such a nice feeling of service meant I felt extra special for this birthday treat. Your staff are amazing at Redhill. We will always champion that when telling our friends.
The Staff were very friendly and helpful.They all had smiles on their faces and were courteous and helpful.Nothing was too much trouble for them.It was very much appreciated to see such friendly and helpful Staff.nThe premises was clean and tidy.nWe had the carvery which was cooked very well.The meats were nicely cooked and tender.The side dishes were all cooked nicely and tasty.nA very nice eating out experience.Will definitely recommend.
Visited today and they were clearly short staffed at the front of house.nJack is an absolute star, Working so hard, rushing around serving people with a smile and apologising for any delays of which we had none.nThe food as always was outstanding.nThank you and well done Jack!
Sophie looked after us so well, she is a credit to your restaurant.nFood was hot and fresh and excellent value for money. Super impressed within Denis on the carvery too. Lovely man and had time for everyone! Can’t wait to come back!
