Had a family Sunday lunch here and to be honest was a bit disappointed. The prawn cocktail had very small prawns with not much taste - they seemed low quality lacking texture for the £8.95. The roast beef was quite rare no problem with that normally but was sinewy and not helped by not very sharp knives. For £19.95 I was expecting a bit better, although the veggies were nice.nnThat said, the atmosphere was good, the staff very attentive and it felt very clean and comfortable. It’s was very busy so I am guessing this might have been a one-off. Also feedback on the whitebait was good.nnI will probably give it another chance given the above. I didn’t complain as I didn’t want to taint the family meal, so to be fair to them I didn’t give them chance to rectify.
Hands down the best pub in the local area. Food is excellent, staff are always really nice. Plus, the pub is now dog-friendly and has been for a few years. Dogs can’t go in the pub itself, however the undercover seating area is lovely as pictured here and comfortable, so we were quite happy being able to take our pooch out for lunch with us.nnThe food and beers are really reasonably priced too. Highly recommend.
Great pub made us very welcome. Lovely garden/play area for kids. Food was very tasty . Good selection of beers .
Looks inviting from the outside, plenty of parking and seating. Lots of gin selection! Bar maid was on her own but very efficient. Food was absolutely lovely and chips were piping hot
