My friends and I visited for a Sunday roast and catching up and I must say it's probably the best spot in Vauxhall for it. The service was top-notch - fast and friendly. Although it was bustling busy when we arrived, we were promptly seated without a wait, though booking in advance seems wise. The pints of Black Dog were delicious. Overall, a great pub that I highly recommend. I'll definitely be coming back again.
I feel like it was a nice local pub and the food was okay, the pins was great but the starters especially the prawns was quite a small portion for £12. As a swiftie I was a little disappointed in the experience, we went the week Taylor was performing and the whole time we were there not one TS song was played, there were a few drawings on the wall but that was the only thing- there was merch to purchase as well I think the jumpers started at £50. It was a nice pub with a chilled atmosphere but I wish they did a bit more like at least play a song or had a Taylor inspired cocktail available. Other than that it’s a lovely pub with a chilled atmosphere not far from the station
Had a Sunday roast and was by far the best roast I have had in a while. Generous portion of pork cracking which was also amazing. Nice on the street tables with a good vibe. Will be returning!
We were drawn in by the Taylor Swift song reference - gorgeous old pub with great food and drinks. Vegan options too. Lavender garden nearby in Vauxhall was lovely also
My girls and I arrived in London for the Taylor Swift Eras concert in June. I am sure that many of you other Swifities will take a trip to the Black Dog. DON’T - but if you do, take your pictures and leave or just download mine from this review. The customer service was terrible and the staff seemed grumpy. This is not a Swiftie vibe! You would think that they would be more grateful for the business boost from Taylor and her fans. The food was pricey for the portion size and the flavors were bland. We did have a bottle of the rose vino. It was good and a good price BUT we had to ask for new wine glasses as they were dirty, covered with food and lip stick stains. Merch was displayed on the walls but sold out they should have been more prepared for half a million Swifties coming into town. My daughter wanted to purchase a cap off of the wall but they said “no” even though their supply was coming in that day or the next. I stood at the front door to wait for my girls. I welcomed newcomers in my Eras t-shirt and handed out the bracelet's that I made. Everyone was like “OMG you are amazing! Do you work here?” I said “No, but I really should”. Black Dog I think that you can do better and to the Swiftie fans coming in August, re-think your trip to the Black Dog.
