The staff were super friendly and helpful , the meal was amazing. The chips were the best I’ve had since arriving in the UK from Australia. nothing to fault at all! You do need to book, which is to be expected. That’s the same anywhere in the world that’s any good!
One of the better looking pubs in Cockermouth. Faithful to pub traditions indoors. Staff were a bit slow and atmosphere was very average but it has seating outdoors. Food tasted decent enough but tiny portions. Quite a few beers on tap.
You have to book in advance.nPremium eateries in this area with local offerings.nHomemade food and welcoming staff who were all nice.nCute space inside and you can tell the food is of an excellent quality.nBest pub we ate when we visited.nLeft very full!
Rung up in the morning as we fancied a roast, and were accommodated without issue.nnSaw the menu, roast changed to a 'Steak and Ale Pie' and a 'Gammon, Sausage and Egg'. Both came with fresh double cooked chips as requested.nGood portions.nThe pie, my word, the pie was stunning. You could taste the ale and it wasn't overpowering. The Gammon was beautiful and juicy.nnDessert had to be the sticky toffee pudding and it did not disappoint. Homemade, the toffee saucy is thick, the pudding itself is moist and huge!nnThe staff are lovely and happy to chat or help however they can. Atmosphere is lovely, chilled and welcoming.nnCouldn't fault them, thank you.nnYou will need to lie down for a nap afterwards from the food, be warned haha
Great tasting food we just loved it and portions are huge. Good choice of drinks and you might try specials and offers. Lots of character at every corner inside the building looks great however we found the lighting to be too dim.
