Came in here for an Indian meal, place was really busy, one table seemed a little loud and drunk, so I asked to move and they got me a table in a quieter part of the restaurant. Staff were polite, service was quick, prices are reasonable for this area and there was parking right outside. The food was okay, not bad for a place that dosnt have an local asian population, but the aloo chaat came hot with a sweet flavour, when chaat is supposed to be a cold dish with a combination of sweet, sour and spiced flavours...... not a bad effort and I would visit again though.....
Great Indian based in the town of cockermouth. Generous portions. Lovely walk in and out of the town that took 15 minutes from the premier inn walking on the main road in. Parking: Parking situated on the roadside within tbe town itself spaces pending.
We just walked in without booking abut at 5:30pm, but we got a table for 4. Thanks for that for the staff. For me staffs were ok, but not so friendly. Of course they came and asked us about food ....etc. so was not any problem. Food looked very nice, it was an ok service. But was strange a bit that it seemed they did first the take away customers and just after the 'sit in' customers? We waited for our food at least 40mins and we were the first customers there - literally. We saw that people arrived for take away they got it but nothing for us, just drink. Coke arrived later after we asked it again they brought the drinks, but at first they forgot to tell us that: 'sorry the coke will come just later as we have to fill the mashine' or something. So my friend got her coke maybe after 20mins. Luckily she was not so thirsty. Toilette was very clean, and the restaurant everywhere was very clean. Lots of tables inside, no outside sitting, and i don't think so that is dog friendly. You can really see on the photos that food looked super, no complaining at all. I am not an 'indian food fan', so i can not tell you how amazing was it, for me nothing super not so tasty, was not taste buds, flavor bomb or nothing waaauuu if you understand me meat was chunky, thick in my food but maybe it is normal and some part a bit chewy. For my friends, it was enough good. But i liked how our food looked. So sure that first i was fine because of the sight of the food. So thank you for that. I did not drink any alcohol now, they have variety of wines, i think price is same as everywhere else. Food price exactly the same, i think mine was £14, and i had my food with lamb. We saw that a lot of people arrived for take away and came to eat in restaurant too, so i am quite sure it is a very popular place in Cockermouth. Compare to Keswick Lakeland Spice i think the owner is same i would say i liked food better in Keswick - the taste was somehow different. But this is just my unexperienced opinion and i ate there just once. I say it worth a try if you like indian food.
Whilst in Cumbria Cockermouth... if you looking for a beautiful quisine..with the taste of excellence....lk no further.... Enjoy
The establishment looks a bit tired, but found the staff accommodating, despite us not booking a table prior on a Saturday night. The food itself wasn't too bad, how ever were shocked over the price of some items. I ordered two chapattis, they aren't on the menu, but cost me me a whopping £5.90 for just two!. Rest of the food were fairly priced.
Lovely attentive staff. Excellent and very welcome food - nicely presented and full of flavour. We asked a local always ask a local... they know and came to the Cockermouth Spice Club, unannounced, on a cold and quiet Monday evening. Thank you to the local for a top recommendation. We second it! P.S. Sorry... no photos. We were enjoying the meal too much! Vegetarian options: Plenty of choice and knowledgeable advice Wheelchair accessibility: No obstructive steps. Plenty of room to manoeuver.
Had an excellent meal here. We didn't book and got a table straight away. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. They entertained my naughty child and gave her a treat. We left with a lasting memory. The waiter who entertained my daughter was fantastic, she even wanted a cuddle when leaving lol. Thank you.
Well what can I say except, fantastic portion size. Welcoming, friendly and very attentive staff. Son says even the doggy enjoyable. Well worth a visit.
Thank you for a lovely meal Bhai. We really enjoyed your company. It was nice seeing you unexpectedly. It was quite a coincidence. Thanks again and hopefully we’ll meet again. Amir
Birthday dinner for 3 friends plus 3 more. We were looked after by a great team, food was fabulous with good sized portions. We thought it was excellent value for money. Our doggy bags had lovely extras. We will be back!
