Heard the bell had been taken over by new management. Went for lunch today and it was awful. In hindsight, I should have walked out when the man serving was rude! All the items ordered weren't received on the table, noone came back over to ask how our food was, in fact noone was to been seen after we were served a sandwich which had one burnt piece of bread on side and a soggy piece of bread the other. We went at 13.00 on a Friday and there was only one other table eating - shows how awful the food is. Save your money abd eat elsewhere. If they can't get a sandwich right I dread to think how their Sunday lunches are!
The room was faultless as always our 3rd time here. But we had an evening meal with friends and it was shocking. Was not worth the money and service was rubbish. The breakfast was a bit better but won't be eating here in future visits.Rooms: 5/5
Can not comment on the actual stay as it never happened. After booking a room here, I received a phone call to inform me they were over booked and could not honour the booking. Manager was lovely on the phone at the time, however, over two weeks later and I’ve received no communication, no refund, and no replies to any of my attempts to contact. Disappointed and frustrated because I had to pay for a different hotel so am out of pocket currently with no idea when I’ll get my money back.
Lovely room with air conditioning. Pub looks a bit tired and needs a refit. Food is excellent value for money and well prepared. Staff attentive and polite. Pub needs a refit. Excellent for business and leisure as in middle of town with parking nearby.Rooms: 5/5
Had a 2 night stay 29-31 July 2022,room really nice, toiletries inclusive, coffee and tea facilities,TV ,air conditioning,20 percent off food for being hotel resident., Price per night for a double or twin Room was £ 60. Only downside it was a bit noisy until pub below shut around midnight. Used a taxi firm called "Falcon Taxi Services" which were reliable and fixed prices for certain destinations. Highly recommendable for a stay there.
Excellent. Been twice now and each time the rooms are spotless and the staff a very helpful. If you need a room in the area this is the place to go.Rooms: 5/5
Poor management dirty pub smells police outside Pub dealing with homeless drinking cans outside pub toilets had no hand wash or toilet roll ordered food burger was raw inside Avoid at all costs not family friendly either and very overpriced don’t botherLocation: 1/5
This place has really gone downhill under its new management. The night porter is friendly and helpful, but the new management is rude and obnoxious. The way he speaks to staff and customers is disgusting. Locals feel the sameRooms: 1/5
They seem to be struggling with staff, one poor woman was delivering food and must have completed a week's worth of steps in a night! She did it with a smile! Food was great , loved the curry and the other half's steak was a really good piece of meat and cooked well. The staff deserve a medal as we still had a good experience.
I have re visited the hotel after the take over. The service is very poor, the male toilets look like a bomb site. Toilet roll dispensers on the floor. The sinks were unwashed. The young lady behind the bar was rude and more interested in her phone.
