Overall a nice pub/restaurant with fair prices, but the food wasn't great. The starter sharing board was very nice and had good variety. However, our steaks were chargrilled on the outside and overdone on the inside, when we asked for medium rare. The brownie was nice, but a bit dry and would have been nicer warm. We weren't informed that although it's a dog friendly pub, they weren't allowed in the restaurant area, so we lost our bookings and fortunately found a table in the busy pub area there's a very limited number. The staff were very good and friendly though.
A lovely pub with a fairly decent menu, we were there for my dads birthday and the staff were very nice. My sisters hake dish didn’t come with enough of the advertised chowder so it was too dry to eat but everything else was fine
A real gem of a place. Cleared a table for us as a late booking. Very friendly staff. The cheese burger was the best I've ever been served in a restaurant and the curry was full of flavour. Highly recommend and would be back here regularly if I was a local!
Delicious roast dinner, quick service, great option of food and drinks. Overall very good experience. Only thing to note was the barman seemed to be quite rude to other staff making it feel a little awkward at times.
Just had a lovely lunch with some friends. The food was delicious and the service was first class. Special thanks to the lovely waitress that looked after us. Didn't get her name, young very slim, dark hair and glasses. She was extremely pleasant, friendly and very attentive. We have eaten here a lot recently and enjoyed our meals on every occasion. Thoroughly recommend it.
Wonderful pub in a gorgeous village. Friendly and helpful staff members, can’t remember the names of all 3, but Zoe and Jamie were two of them, so friendly and attentive. Zoe went above and beyond, she is an absolute star. The food was good, nice selection with specials to choose from as well, huge fish portion, chips are tasty and the mixed grill even comes with black pudding. This would be my new regular pub if I lived nearby. Can’t fault it at all
Good pub. Dogs allowed inside, although I suggest you book and say you’ll have dogs with you. Chef and Brewer menu, so something for everyone. Reasonable prices. We paid £112 for six full lunches including drinks. Good sized garden with shade where you can also order food. Free parking, but remember to type in your registration on the iPad thingy on the bar inside the front door or you will get fined.
I attended a wake here at the shoulder of mutton yesterday and I cannot thank the staff enough. The service was excellent both on the bar and in the restaurant and everyone was incredibly attentive. I'd also like to thank the kitchen staff, food was beautiful and there was plenty of it. Massive thank you to anja for being so helpful and lovely with making all the arrangements. Everyone who attended was extremely grateful for the service we received. Thank you all so much.
I arranged my husband's wake with Tracy. She was very kind and helpful and went beyond expectations. The venue was lovely and the food superb. There were lots of comments on how delicious it was. She was helped by excellent kitchen staff, whose cooking, I can highly recommend, and a lovely waitress, Zoe.
We went for Sunday lunch last weekend. The food was awful, I had the trio roast. My 92 year old mother had pork. The potatoes were not roasted, they were more like boiled potatoes. The pork, all brown meat. The beef stringy and bitty, the turkey tasteless and dry, I didn’t eat hardly anything. Spoke to the member of staff when she took the meal away. She said …. quote: Sorry about that, our chef said he’ll learn by his mistakes. Really? Although they replied to this review, I contacted them as requested and got absolutely no response. Needless to say we won’t be going back.
