Great service from the staff, especially Arthur he serviced our table and shon when he said he would check if there was any other flavour crane Brûlée they could do. The food! Fantastic. Greta patè, good prawns and scallops cooked just right. Lamb rack wow, beautiful. Veg was cooked good and the shepherds pie was great too. The beef bourguignon was also so full of flavour and the meat was amazing. We will be back.
Beautiful pub with tons of ‘olde worlde’ charm. Friendly staff who fitted us in despite the fact we hadn’t booked in advance. Nice menu with plenty of choice. We both chose the Pork Belly and it was delicious so would recommend. We will be back!
Good size portions and choices with the set menu and lunch menu, plus decent price. Good tip, Download the app 25 hours before visiting for £20 off if spend £40.
Have visited this pub twice in just over a month with very different experiences. Review 1. This pub just outside Wendover is well worth experiencing. Having rang them to say I would be delayed the lady on the phone was first class and very professional. On arrival we were shown to a table in front of the fire. There was a good choice of alcohol free beverages and orders were taken promptly. Food was cooked fresh and was without a shadow of a doubt the best food I've eaten in a long time. A mention must also go to the waitress who was superb, attentive and extremely hard working. Highly recommended Review 2. Have had a wonderful meal here the first time, we thought we would return , and was extremely disappointed. There was a number of items unavailable as starters, mains or deserts. My partners main meal was way to salty, and other customers were returning food as it was not cooked properly. The man who served us was trying to be funny but just came across as rude. Other issues also include 7 out of 11 main meals and nearly half of deserts contain alcohol. Now when your partners an ex alcoholic, this rules out food psychologically more than anything. The female toilets were also dirty according to my partner. Our 2nd visit questions wether we will go back. It could have just been a bad day. But it has left a lasting impression.
Well where do I even start, from arrival till the end of our time here we have had the best service in a long time! Greeted by friendly staff, after 1 minute of walking in we were sat at our table in the lovely and peaceful garden! Drinks were served quickly, bit of banter with the staff, which in my eyes is always a welcoming and approachable experience! We ordered the Pork Belly and the House Burger, and wow, who would have thought that Pork Belly, Mash and Apple sorbet would go together so well! Like mini fireworks going off in your mouth! The burger was out of this world, soft bun, flavourful patty and the softest beef brisket ever! And the sauce? Oh my god it was incredible! We will definitely be coming back here more often! Our compliments to the FOH staff and the kitchen team! You're all doing such a great job, keep it up! :D
It was a cold evening but the pub was lovely and warm. Had booked on line asking for a particular table which we were given. It was extremely busy every table taken but staff were efficient and polite. Steaks were ordered for the 4 of us dining and all were cooked to our liking and were delicious.
Lovely ambiance, friendly staff. Food a little pricey but tasty. Used an offer when downloading the Vintage inns app, but will probably go again as I liked the menu - plenty more to try! Update: did return to the restaurant and tried something else on the menu - very tasty! Restaurant was full on a Thursday lunchtime, so they are obviously popular!
We have been attending The Fire Crest for a number of years and have always had a pleasurable experience. However we were very disappointed at the lack of direction the place has seemingly taken . From the tasteless food fish that was fresh 2 weeks ago / super rare beef given on the roast option Staff that we seen taking group selfies ..a waiter tucking his shirt down his backside before serving food ! The 1 star is given to the waiter older guy that has been there for as long as I can remember who carried out great service as he has always done ..
Such a lovely place! The building is gorgeous with lots of different areas all feeling very warm and comforting. The food was amazing, generous portions, great flavour! The highlight of my meal was the Black Forest Flower Pot dessert!! So tasty and creative, with lots of different elements. The only little issues were that the service was a little slow and my partner said his brownie was a bit dry. Hardly a deal breaker though, I still highly recommend The Firecrest for a lovely lunch or dinner - or even just a drink, because the drinks menu was very impressive!
I visited the Firecrest for the first time this weekend with friends for an overdue catch up, we chose the Firecrest as it was central to all of us with location and we were really impressed, such a warm atmosphere and a lovely welcome received , we dealt with two members of staff particularly who were called called Natalie and Georgia. They were very kind and helpful and all round lovely - Thank you, it will not be our only visit
