A 20 minute walk from us, has Camden on tap, very friendly staff, food is great. it has a great little cafe downstairs which you can get an amazing cooked breakfast at. .... And it's all dog friendly.
If you want the most unwelcoming , unfriendly and rude manager/landlady the go to this place. My partner and me called today asking if it was ok to turn up in 25 minutes with our two dogs for a bar table for food, the young girl on phone advised us that it was fine to just come down they had tables free, no need to book if i was close. Upon arrival pub was busy and i went to bar only to be told no food booking being taken, the manager lady i assume manager/owner came over really unhelpful and miserable basically saying "oh i didnt speak to you, we are too busy" i assured her i called and a young girl had said it was fine. She then went off in a huff asking everyone as clearly thought i was lying, i had to show her my phone and call i had made. Finally after being stood there ten minutes she said "oh the girl over there took the call, but you didnt book anyway" I told her the girl said i didnt need to book as was only 15 min away and had tables. After more huffing and puffing, she said well u can go sit over there then, i asked if that was ok, she then rolled eyes and huffed "yeah sure" in a sarcastic tone turning back and walking off. Me and partner just looked at each other and said, wow no way we staying here and walked out. This woman needs serious training in working with the public, shocking attitude and customer service. A simple "oh sorry sir we made a mistake im really sorry about that, we cant fit you in , i apologise for that" would have been more than fine by me, mistakes happen. We left and went to the Bell in Aston Clinton, to have a warm friendly female manager find us space and was really lovely and helpful, would never go back or recommend to any of my friends or family to go to the dog house, Apt name to be honest...it fits. If she reads this, remember first impressions last and maybe find a job not working face to face with the public with this attitude. And if your booked out tell staff to not advise customers they can pop down and have tables free. Im sure she will post a reply blaming us, that seems her way. shame i cant give it no stars.
Very friendly local pub, great homey atmosphere and plenty of space! Dog friendly too which is great for walkers, a nice short walk over the fields from Bierton or Coppice estate, and great halfway/ending point for a longer walk! Food & drinks: Excellent food and drinks choices, food always arrives fast and friendly service!
We had a great Christmas party, the team at the Dog house have been really helpful throughout and the food was fantastic.
A first for us quiz night ,really enjoyed the atmosphere and the pizzas ,good mid week night out .Service: 5/5
Always a friendly welcome at the Dog House , The food is very good and the Sunday roasts are top notch.. A great selection of draft lagers ,beers and wines ..
If you like a Sunday roast then book a table and enjoy. Yet to be disappointed.
Excellent food, excellent staff. Plenty of car parking space. Real ale available
Went to the K9 cafe with friends for a coffee. Very nice place, with friendly staff and a good looking menu.
Personally I do like going to the Doghouse for a pint, but I’m just not a fan of the food. Most of it is either fried or just poor ingredients, and I always regret eating there… however if you want a pint without the noise of 90’s boybands or electro showing my age now, then it’s a decent enough place for you.
