The Armoury is a city pub – it’s a truly impressive space, illuminated with lovely windows looking out over the river, with a good bar and massive bookcases, but it is never intimidating – Sunday lunch here with the family feels just like a pub lunch should feel like – the people on the tables around are warm and chatty, and there’s a lovely atmosphere throughout.

The Armoury is a lovely , cosy place where you can enjoy drinks, snacks or have a nice meal. The staff are friendly, professional and always ready to help. The food is absolutely delicious, home-made style food. Portions are a really good size with reasonable prices. Definitely recommend it for a relaxed meal with friends and family!
A really well placed and well appointed venue, we really like coming here and it's beauty is also it's curse .... what we love is that you can pop on for a pint a quick cup of coffee or a light bite or a full family meal .... the down side to that is if you hit it at the wrong time, revellers do not necessarily mix with quiet family dinners .... so you just need to know when to go I think, but in trying to be everything to everyone it does sometimes miss the mark. The staff have always been super lovely when we have been there , the food great and a good selection of wine and beers. So I can recommended going, just choose your time right for your occasion ....
Lovely decor and nice atmosphere, service was good. However, the food was mediocre. The lamb was excellent and a good sized portion, but there was about a tablespoon of veg and the potatoes tasted like they had been reheated. The Moroccan pie was good, the pastry was excellent, but again the accompanying veg were lacking. The roasted veg were, in my opinion, undercooked. They can't have been in the oven for more than 5 minutes. We visited The Armoury back in the summer and had the Sunday lunch, which was excellent and I would highly recommend.
Christmas Party Myself and 10 others attended a Christmas party here. We had the set menu, which was nice tasting but not anything too exciting. I’d say good value for money. Massive open space and was very busy! I imagine it would be quite cosy if you visited on a usual day!
Food was excellent, service brilliant, a true gem.of a place. So busy but you didn't feel rushed. You need to book tho. A violet fizz and garlic and chilli King prawn starter! Too busy eating to photo my main course, sorry. It was so lush!!
Our first visit to The Armoury in Shrewsbury and it won't be our last. It was lovely, friendly, food was lovely with a great choice on the menu. We dined early but didn't feel rushed for the table back and we were happy to finish our drinks in the bar area which had a good atmosphere.
A lovely place by the river to stop and have lunch while waiting for a river cruise. There are lots of tables outside for a spot of alfresco dining as well as an impressive indoor area. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was good quality and well presented. Prices were reasonable for the location. Overall a good place to eat, would recommend a visit if you're in the area.
Lovely cosy place to have a drink or some food.. Looked forward to going but was left disappointed...booked a table for 8.30 pm ordered chicken wings starter and pate starter and a cheese board as me and my partner only wanted nibbles.. Waited quite a while before we got our food only seemed to be 2 girls serving and it was very busy..was disappointed by the pate was expecting it to be homemade bur seemed to be just a normal small slice with some lettuce and 4 pieces of bread..chicken wings weren't to bad... But cheese board wasn't anything special I asked for some butter which I waited ages for when I eventually got the waitress to come over all my crackers had gone and she said she couldn't get any butter as the chef was outside having a cigarette! Not very impressed... Wouldn't go back for food to be honest.. Maybe a drink but was left under whelmed by what we had.
Proper half pints and nibbles They know how to make a girl happy. Awesome selection of IPAs at the bar and the food didn't taste British at all
We booked a table on the 1st September for our Wedding Anniversary. The staff were amazing, dispite changing a few things we ordered. The food was absolutely incredible! The lamb was to die for, the pie and burger looked amazing. We had a wonderful Anniversary meal out with our boys. Thank you everyone at the Armoury!
