Thornbury was once a nice thriving market town. It is now suffering from the closeness of Bristol and the large out of town shopping centre known as the Mall. I suppose as new developments take place some older places will struggle to keep up. The high street now contains a number of charity shops, a sign of the times I'm afraid. There is ample parking and it can be nice, unless you are looking for something only the big shops supply, to just look around and enjoy the old worldness of this little town. The garden centre is just outside of the town and has plenty of free parking and a well frequented coffee shop. The garden centre is part of the wyevale chain and stocks a good selection of garden equipment. There are also inshop outlets such as Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Klass and Mountain Warehouse.

Absolutely Diabolical... called at 15:10 for when softplay shut and was told last entry is 16:00, with it shutting at 16:30. Got there for 15:30 and bought cake and drinks for wife son and I and was told there was no charge for the softplay (only positive!) I had to leave as needed to collect my dog leaving my wife and son to continue within cafe/softplay... when I was leaving I asked to confirm closing time and was told 16:30. I had left at 15:55 and received a call from my wife to inform me she was ushered to leave as the cafe/softplay were now shut. My wife and son had not been able to finish there drinks and when asked to leave also hastily took away plates. On my return I spoke with the man that informed me of the 16:30 close and he said he was unaware. This is shocking when on two occasions the time of closure was confirmed on the phone and in person 5/10 minutes before. Fortunately my son was accepting of leaving even though he was so excited at going there hence the late arrival.

Disappointed. First visit to this garden centre and was hoping to spend some love2shop vouchers on garden power tools, but was disappointed to find they don't sell any. Was also left unimpressed at the state of the outdoor plants, yes it's end of the season, but it's not an excuse to be selling lots of dead/dying plants at full price. However, the staff were friendly and helpful when approached for directions.

Haven't been to a Wyvale for a while. I was very impressed by the very knowledgeable and friendly member of staff who took his time explaining the best perennial plant options and how to get the most of them. He rightly pointed us to the reduced price section of the garden centre where we managed to get some beautiful bargains.👍🥀🌼🌱
