I moved here since begging of the year and i chosen this surgery, even i seen the reviews. I said to my self:"what can be worst than my previously one?" If i could give one millions stars, i will give them with all my hear, as they deserve. Always, very prompt to respond at my queries on Econsult, always they answered me to my questions, the explanations are very clear, my appointments and blood tests or consultations always in time and at highest standards and a very polite staff. Also, i had a very good experience for my son' s issue. Thank you to everyone from this Surgery and God bless you all! One millions stars and stronger recommendation!
Been waiting for test results for weeks, tried calling and being told 'call at 8am' or nobody can give me results and so submitted an e-consult and STILL nobody has called me. Whenever I call the receptionist and nobody else will give me the test results. Awful.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, they do not care for patients at all. I called for an emergency appointment and was told to pick my prescription up from a pharmacy. I got to the chemist and nothing had been sent, called them and of course I couldn’t get through. They never pick their calls. I went back to this horrible gp and explained to the receptionist that nothing had been sent. She was asking me what the doctor had prescribed me??! As the patient?!!? And was guessing what to give me. There was no sense of care or sensitivity. Something that could potentially harm me. Imagine rushing back to the chemist to find it still had not been received. I would rather die that use this gp again.
Really bad experiences at this practice from myself and all of my family members. Almost killed my Dad by not sending him to A&E when he had dangerously high blood pressure. He almost had a stroke. Left my Mum with an extremely bad knee injury after accusing the cause of the injury to be weight-related, when in fact she tore her meniscus at work. She now needs surgery to correct this. Totally ignored me when I attended to investigate my frequent chest infections which last between 4 and 7 weeks at a time. Also refused to make a note on my file that I requested to be referred and was refused. Also refused to write a doctors note, so I could take the matter elsewhere. They also completely ignore anything to do with mental health.
If I could put 0 I will, but Instead, I will make a complaint to the NHS. I joined them a year and a half ago, and not once they've answered the phone. their phone line is constantly engaged, and when you try the online system, it constantly tells you to call the emergency line. This a fraud, which I had never experienced with any other medical practice anywhere. Still hiding behind COVID. literally AWEFUL!
I echo Sue’s comments. I was very happy with my old surgery in Summerhouse drive. I don’t think the staff in Downs way summerhouse surgery are being unhelpful intentionally, I believe they have a set of systems around them that simply don’t work. The Healthera app is atrocious. That alone is losing prescriptions, blocking repeat prescriptions and has no accountability what so ever. I don’t know if I have a doctor. I have spoken to the practice manager repeatedly who could be more helpful. She is trying to work with these corrupt systems and I don’t feel is experienced enough to make the changes needed to solve the problems. I am just about to write a complaint to her about the practice, everything is just too hard to sort out and they really couldn’t give a stuff. I only give them 1 star as less was not available. To add to this review, within 24 hours of this post going up, the surgery kicked me off it’s books! I’m not really losing anything so it’s not really a bad thing. Fortunately I have put it a complaint about its appalling service so there is no reason not to take that the whole way. There we go, shame these people don’t want to get on. I just find it all a bit gutless really. Why not try to give me access to my medication???
I transferred when the Summerhouse Drive surgery closed along with hundreds if not thousands of others so I can appreciate the strain they were under before covid hit but honestly the worse surgery I have ever been with. Every month I have a message saying I need a blood test with no explanation as to why ! My mother who has been with this practice for a number of years had a phone call from Dr Mayhill to enquire how she was and did she need anything , great you may be thinking but when two days later my mum was away and had forgotten her painkillers and only needed 8 until she returned home she was told no we can't fax a prescription over go to urgent care ! Disgraceful.
The doctors are pretty good but the receptionists are incredibly rude. It's deeply concerning when you politely remind them that they're being rude, for their retort to be along the lines of ' well there are other doctors '.
Extremely difficult to make phone appointments. Hide behind the e-triage system which doesn't fit many scenarios. Poorly trained staff who give out incorrect information. Computer system which can't communicate with other places referred to. If you can go anywhere else do!
Used to be a great surgery years ago. Unfortunately it has taken a downturn in the last couple of years. Some of the newer receptionists are very rude and cut you off with unhelpful suggestions before hearing you out fully. The doctors have generally been good.
