I couldn't find star less than 1. continuously postponed my operation for 3 times. Last one cancelled just 1 day before : There is absolutely no wiggle room for scheduling appointments, no explanation offered for cancellations, and no information provided regarding the time a new appointment would be set. If you have no idea when you can restart taking your prescription, this is especially annoying when you have to stop taking it before a procedure. I would say please don't go for this hospital. I
Continually cancelled my procedure over the course of ten months and counting - the latest, scheduled to take place in a few days, was cancelled again today. The first time it happened just as I was about to go into theatre. Absolutely no flexibility regarding appointments, no reasons given for cancellations and no information regarding when appointments will be rescheduled. This is particularly irritating when you have to come off medication prior to a procedure as you have no idea when you can resume it. There's a complete lack of consideration and accountability. Don't believe all the 'We care' posters dotted around the walls. They don't. Unless you're paying privately, of course. The nursing staff are great - it can't be easy having to work under such inept management and unprofessional, arrogant and uncaring consultants. Avoid it if you can.
Don't bother use the NHS. I had a blood transfusion due to losing a lot of blood, I need an operation which would have taken 6mths on the NHS so decided to use my private healthcare and saw a consultant in July. Date for opperation set for Sept, 2 weeks before cancelled and told it will be Oct when I have a holiday booked so not possible as it has a 2-3 week recovery time. I was told someone would call to book me in for Nov, today I get a call and guess what it's Dec just before Xmas so 6 months from the date of the consultant visit. I may as well have gone with the NHS as private is just a scam but my employer pays for this rubbish and this hospital is useless. They use NHS surgeons and they are always doing NHS procedures so why pay they will not give you any special treatment or do anything faster then the NHS anyway. Spire is the worst of the companies as the reviews show, they don't seem to know when the surgeons are available or they do so many NHS operations they have no theatre space as they get more money from the NHS than the medical insurance companies so bump you out.
Before attending Spire, I did the homework, read the google reviews and was a little dismayed by the mid-table rating 3.2. However, my actual experience of Spire was quite different and clearly at odds with these comments. Hospital communication both pre-op and post-op were clear and timely. The hospital itself was welcoming, spotlessly clinical, and presented a calming atmosphere that was unhurried yet efficient. Staff were friendly, well informed, and totally professional. All of which went a very long way to easing a stressful situation. Whilst my experience may be different to that of others, I would suggest that several reviews are bordering on the disingenuous. Personally, I would recommend Spire Elland
Would have been 0 stars but doesn’t give me the option. Rubbish service from start to finish. False promises and lie. Don’t reply back and continually cancel procedures after taking payment. Lack of consideration or accountability. They don’t care about the patients, blamed cancelling the procedure repeatedly on not having the machines available. The day before the appointment, they cancel and give a date a month later and then cancel that date and give another date with no explanation. What’s the point going private when they’re worse than the nhs. They need to be shutdown as they are playing with peoples lives.
From first consultation to surgery was only five weeks. Every appointment leading up to the surgery went like clock work. I had a total hip replacement and went home the day after surgery. From start to finish everything and everyone were first class. Thanks to Mr. Metcalf I am pain free and I am able to get out and about, something I haven't been able to do for a long time.
Attended here for first ever private hospital appointment yesterday. Found the spotless and covid safe reception and toilets very reassuring. Pleasant receptionist who accessed my records speedily. Efficient and friendly initial tests by nurse Carol. Very thorough and cheerful medical consultation. Speedy delivery of pricing as I am self funding. Suffice to say I am almost looking forward to my cataract surgery....and am sure I will be well cared for. Thanks everyone!
My Wife had her blood and ultrasound done at the hospital and the consultant’s secretary is not willing to share the results before the consultant approves. The next available appointment is after 2 months! I can’t believe firstly that the reports cannot be shown before consultant approves as this is standard NHS practice. The patient has the right to see their own report. My Wife is in destress and anxious and disappointed that she would have to wait for weeks before seeing the consultant again with her deteriorating health condition. If her condition gets worse, I am willing to sue the hospital. I want an immediate response!
Absolute joke this place is. My appointment was originally booked on a certain day and then at short notice cancelled. I was then given another reappointment which was a phone consultation. I waited for the call at the booked time and no one called. After half an hour I called and was told the consultant was running behind. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and was told to wait and someone will call. I waited and no one called back. I then called the following day and was promised someone will call me back and they didn’t. I’m already quite anxious about the results of my scans and then to be messed around like this is just causing me more anxiety. When I went for my scan the radiographer told me the results can take up to 6 weeks and my GP would be in touch. I told him I was private and then was told it’ll be a week so I was judged on my appearance and looks which I thought was disgusting. I will not be going to any Spire hospital for any future treatments. Even patient support are not interested in helping and sticking to their promises. I was promised someone will call me back within 24 hours and no one did. I genuinely would not recommend this hospital.
Very impressive. I was referred to the Spire at Elland by my GP on the NHS for a trigger finger. I had a little wait until my appointment came but it was expected because of covid and back logs. On my visit I felt safe as soon as I entered the building, very clean and organized masks worn. My consultant was Miss Dean, she was very nice and made me feel welcome. My treatment was very goodpainful steroid injection Miss Dean told me exactly what she was doing and how painful it would be. I'm doing very well after the treatment, Ihave
