I visited Dewsbury hospital A&E after slipping on ice a few days before Christmas 2022. I was seen within 10 minutes, X-rayed and treated within an hour. I needed an operation which took place a few days later. How amazing is our NHS we are so lucky. The nurse's where brilliant, so caring and considerate. A huge thank you x
Spent 9 hrs waiting to be seen by a doctor last night for my 3 year old in a & e. He had a fever of 39.9 and we were made to sit in the most disgusting waiting area for 9 hours. We were surrounded by dirty sick bowls and tissue. Appalled by the night staff who seemed unaware of how long we’d even been there. Worst of all, they weren’t even busy. Had 4 other children in the waiting area with us. Had to eventually get up and beg them to take his temperature and just to let us go home.
I have came last night to be seen for possibly broken ankle, as you walk in there is a big note warning there will be up to 8 hours waiting to be seen by a Doctor. I was in pain I went in for X RAY and that was about 11 o'clock last night and now it's almost 6 o'clock morning after and still waiting to be seen by doctor for my X RAY. The annoying thing is they are doing nothing in there they are just waiting for you to reach the 8 hour waiting then they call you in. The service is bad people shouldn't be treated this way because they are not getting the wage rise they demandgetting
Not bad, not as bad as some will have you believe, friendly staff and nurses even though it was busy when I was in A&E and the doctor I saw didn’t get his name think he was a Iraqi man actually believe he saved me having me leg amputated, only down side is paying for parking
Here supporting my customer in her own room. cleaner comes in and nurse then comes in and starts talking between themselves about holidays right in front of my customer as if she didnt exist. I thought I was in the staff room at one point how they discussed holidays and men right in front of me and my customer. Completely blanked us. Disgusting. Also we are expected to wear aprons because of infection control but yet non of the nurses or cleaners are! No.wonder there is always bugs and outbreaks at this hospital!
Absolutely fantastic staff at all levels kind caring and professional. The food was very good, with a choice every day. Served promptly and warm at the same time every day .I spent 3 days in ward 15 .Thankyou to everyone
Absolutely shocking. I went in there for the second time after sustaining a head injury due to an epileptic seizure. Was spoken to appallingly by a doctor after asking for some paracetamol for the pain coming from my black eye and bruises and swelling head and cheekbone due to being totally out of it and rather scared this led to me balling my eyes out at the desk with no compassionate response just continuance of snapping and rudeness. Had the most horrible nurse on triage as she simply put on my notes as bad eyesight after I said my head injury had left me with blurred vision and nausea. As an epileptic I know things like this need to be checked. Totally lack compassion and to make someone who has regular seizures sit in a tight waiting room with all metal chairs is neglect of cause. Had to discharge myself as night time is a risk as I have most of my seizures then and would have been safer in my own bed.
Went to A&E and was surprised with how quick I was assessed. The nurses were absolute professionals. My only criticism is the younger of the 2 receptionists who had an abrupt attitude and was rather rude. Maybe she could do with some more customer service training or find a job that she enjoys.
The staff were brilliant, and looked after me perfectly I feel giving a form to fill in abt Experience while your there isn't a gd idea, as some ppl won't feel comfortable leaving an honest review with staff been able to read it while your there.and who's to say it gets forwarded after bad review it might get thrown In the bin by the staff it concerned Other Opinions / ideas below 1. Throw away pants awful make u sweat like mad .also put on before going for procedure, but came out with bleeding down below with no pants but just a pad placed in the area ? Which makes no sense.also with another pad like a puppy pad which made me sweat like mad.which wouldn't of been needed if knickers had been on 2. Food .I had pasta veg n potatoes. Wouldn't feed to my dogs.was awful .I feel if the food was better it would stop waste .I'm not expecting mitchlin star , just edible .pudding was fine 3. Temperature test .plastic tube surely could be put at your bed in a plastic tub to be reused , rather than new one each time.which would result in less waste and money saved 4. Bed pan , surly same could be done if theu were made plastic lined or maybe just as they are, could be emptied out and used again by same patient. Less waste and money saved 5. Been told what they expect regarding results before you can home .ie my blood pressure was low, so had to wait along time . But realised the more water I drank the better it got. This info earlier would of been useful 6. No information on how long before you can go back to work, not even in the booklet 7.cheaper parking for ppl who are staying more than 3 hours or over night.
Thanks to Mr kheir and his team on ward 12 day surgery unit yesterday. Great caring friendly staff. Spotlessly clean all round comfortable experience considering the nature of my op
