Story

Southside Radio Cars was established in Cardonald in 1994 with an initial fleet of ten cars, two telephone lines and a clipboard.
Fast forward 16 years and Southside have a fully licenced operation base, a fleet of over two hundred cars, forty+ telephone lines and a state of the art computerised call management system.

All of our fleet utilise leading edge Ground Positioning and Satellite navigation system.

Southside Radio Cars started as a local business, a combination of convenient location next to the M8 and an adaptable service that can adjust speedily to our clients needs has seen us grow into a leading service in the Central Scotland area. Our Accounts office and fully trained account managers now handle business for major services and clients throughout Scotland.

Our integrity coupled with our local success has also attracted business from further afield and we now supply a corporate service for national retail stores in our area.

Our business is successful because we know the area and understand the demands of our customer base. Building on local knowledge and investing in the local community has watched our business go from strength to strength.

Southside Radio Cars know what is important to its customer and provides services which meet their needs. Freephones are available in local health centres, colleges and local stores. In addition customers can now call from dedicated freephones in superstores such as Morrisons Cardonald and Tesco Silverburn.

Our service is available 24/7 365 days per year and our computerised offices are supported by fully trained friendly staff.

The care and safety of the customers who travel with us is paramount and it is a mandatory requirement for all Southside drivers to be licensed with Glasgow City Council and have obtained Enhanced Disclosure Scotland Certificates from the Scottish Criminal Records Office.

Our service is second to none, we consistently deliver a quality service provided by first class drivers and support staff.

Horrible service, especially the lady on the phone that takes the bookings!!passive aggressive telephone staff!!! I pre-booked for a taxi, got the confirmation,yet on the day when am to catch a flight I was told my booking was cancelled because they were fully booked.NO EMAIL, NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL REGARDING THE CANCELLATION. I will never ever use them again and I would give them no stars if there was the chance to do so
Phoned for a taxi. The” boss” was rude from the second I phoned saying I need to book a return taxi and that he is not sending out one of his 16 cars out to the airport . He then went to put the phone down, I said I would wait and he said no but eventually said I could phone back in 30/45 minutes and if anything is heading over he would look at it.. or just wait all night his words. . Won’t be using this company again ! But he was rude and arrogant .I wanted. Taxi not a lecture.. you need to improve your telephone manners . As others have said very rude !
Shocking poor service, mum and young son left stranded at the airport at 3am after pre-booking taxi home. Bags took 15 mins longer than expected to come though in baggage hall. Driver abandoned job and told a pack of lies to call handler. App says 'no show ' when i called as per instruction when in receipt of our bags. Won't use again.
Such a poor customer service over the phone. You should provide the information that your drivers do not accept debit card and upon reporting, your staff badly misbehave and hang up the call. Such a rude service from the drivers. You should learn professionalism and decency from other companies.
I booked a taxi today, unfortunately I left my phone in the cab, I called the switchboard within 30 minutes to be informed the driver had my phone. He brought my phone back to where he dropped me off, I paid the fare, Thanks for the honesty of the driver and also the prompt response of the controller, thanx again. Will definitely use this taxi company again.
Answer very quickly during the day midweek and weekend. Taxi shows up promptly. Drivers conversive and more of a communal feel to their service as opposed to Glasgow cabs
Worst taxi company EVER. You're safer walking and the telephone staff are passive aggressive NEDS. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE
Cheap prices and drivers are fine. The dispatch people on the phones however are awful. Hardly answer the phones, can be rude at times. Constantly redirecting drivers which leaves you waiting 30mins of more for a car at times. Not the drivers fault, but the guys on the phone are a huge downfall for the company.
DISGUSTING service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! A woman called "Kat" or "Cat" answered my call to arrange a pickup, arranged a booking. Called a 2nd time to ask how long it would be but the operator replied saying they were so busy that they wouldn't provide a time. That is understandable, but what happens next is unforgivable. When the taxi arrived, not more than two minutes later, the taxi left!! My party was gathering their bags ready to go and when leaving, the taxi was seen driving away from the pickup point. We phoned thornliebank taxis bank when Kat or Cat answered the call again 3rd time and said that the taxi was waiting for four minutes when we were told two minutes before we had attempted to enter the taxi. The operator had a horrid tone when answering the call, I don't know if it was because she had been answering drunk people but nevertheless she spoke to us in a very patronising tone, telling us that she wouldn't arrange for us to be picked up immediately from the queue. The driver did not attempt to wait for my party to get ready at all. We had all our bags ready and it was just a matter of waiting for one person to exit from the toilet and thornliebank taxi company had left us for stranded. Thankfully we called GLASGO cabs and they sorted us out immediately. Go to them if you want better service. AVOID THORNLIEBANK RADIO CARS AT ALL COSTS!!!
Taxis and drivers are fine, however the phone number 0709 310 2618 is a premium rate phone number and I was charged £0.63 just for calling, without even connecting and £1.25 when was on for over a minute. This was not inclusive of my 'unlimited minutes' that obviously covers landlines and mobiles. Also, numerous times I called back as it was very busy and there was a delay in the cab arriving. I was charged many times when not even connecting. 7 items on my bill, six at £0.63 and one at £1.25 costing a total of £5. Very sneaky to engage in this practice.
