We use this station when going out or shopping in Birmingham. No need to find parking and able to ha e a drink. So centrally located and everything we need can be reached on foot. Great alternative to driving. Good facilities.
Like New Street, it's not very pretty but this is definitely quiter than New Street. Still a good amount of services and facilities and you can get to destinations such as Moor Street, Solihull, Stratford, Stourbridge, Kidderminster, Worcester & Wolverhampton via Smethwick GB
Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Doe-wgs and Cats, and Budgies and hamsters ! !! And folk's who still ain't too sure what they is ! ?? BIRMINGHAM SNOW HILL STATION ! Birmingham Snow Hill Railway station is thee ideal place for catching trains. You won't need to bring an enormous net, no that would be friggin' stupid. If you stand on the platform, or sit if you're tired, or those new shoes are rubbing, trains stop so you can get on. Result. If you happen to miss one please don't chase it because trains are much faster runners than us ! Which is totally incredible, considering trains don't wear trainers or have a motorbike ! Sometimes train's are cancelled or delayed due to lots of different reasons. A shortage of train crew, engineering works, an incident on the line, or the train and driver went to registration, Double English and Computers, and then decided to wag it bunk off, play hooky, play truwent and go down the park. This can very frustrating for all concerned. Especially if West Midlands Railway's find out and send the train and it's driver home with a letter telling their Mum's and Dad what they've been up to ! Remember diesel locomotives can get fed up too which to my mind, is completely understandable. Would you like loads and lots of loads of ladies, and blokes sitting inside you some with can's of pop or a Cornish pasty and travel miles and miles. No, I thought not. Oh, you wouldn't mind, someone at the back reckons ! ? Well next time it's a Ban koli day have a go at it. Train's have a very hard job ! !!
Well what can I say lovely Phil from Snow Hill helped me so much today in this heat. My train was cancelled waiting for the next one to get me back to Acocks Green to work. My phone died Phil let me use his and then he got me two bottles of cold water and looked after me. What a gentleman and he came out to check I was ok and in the end to advise all have been cancelled and I got a taxi but, Phil you are the man and everyone who came past all said Hi to you. You are a credit and again Thank You Helen xx
Best station in Brum, does not get that busy, easy to operate ticket machines and friendly and helpful staff
i use this station regularly and always find it clean and very well maintained thanks to mr briscoe who does a fantastic job. I do sometimes have trouble with my pass in the electronic gates but there is always a member of staff on hand to help me out. I also enjoy using the coffee bar and newsagent on site but they often seem to be closed.
Come here frequently, can't complain. Always good notice when train times change and ticket gates mostly working.
Caught train to Stratford-on-Avon, train wasn't too busy and the staff behind reception was helpful when asking about platforms. No issues at the barriers.
Good accessible rail station but over shadowed by New Street. Chiltern Line is tops.
most of the staff here are really friendly and helpful. However there is one member of staff who just hates everyone. I've seen her on numerous occasions having arguments with passengers who are just simply asking a simple question. I buy an annual pass to travel into birmingham and 9 times out of 10 my ticket wont work in the barrier, and then have to dread asking her to let me though along with her bad attitude! Its the old lady that sits on the barriers. Beware of her. She's horrible and unhelpful. I'm shacked she has been there for so long.
