We ate at Abbey Wharf on 29/03/22 and loved every minute. The food was absolutelyincredible, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the view is lovely. I also love that the fish and meat are all local and just so fresh! I am surprised that there isn't an option to order starters ,and that the light bites arrive with the mains but it didn't deter us and it was yummy to pick at it all!
Great experience at abbey wharf , very large relaxed restaurant and bar, perfect for family and informal dining. Great views over the water from a large balcony that would be amazing in summer. Food all tasty and good , staff friendly and helpful.
Nice meal at reasonable prices in a great location. Dog friendly establishment. Staff polite and friendly. Service was good, didn't wait too long for food to arrive.
I would give 4 stars for being Dog Friendly and open at 17:30 midweek out of season. We spend 45 minutes walking around Whitby trying to find where to eat. Most of place were closed by 4-5pm. Shocking. The food was ok and well priced, I would say 6 out of 10. Had mussels and calamari as a starter which were not bad, and main dish haddock and chips. The fish and chips didn’t have any seasoning, really tasteless. The fish was nice and fresh, unfortunately batter was soggy and tasted used oil. The staff was pleasant and attentive. Big, clean, nicely decorated it has all potential to be The Star of Whitby. Needs a Chef and stronger manager to make this place blossom.
Exceptional bar, fantastic range of beers, drinks. Very good menu, food Looked delicious, but didn't eat here. Has live music. Very very nicely decorated. Its definitely worth a visit.Food: 5/5
Amazing view of the harbour with fantastic food and drink selection. We had 2 burgers and onion rings. All of the food was perfect however we couldn't finish it as the portions were so generous. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic place to eat in Whitby, food is great with excellent choices. Service is fantastic and great features like app ordering to your table or the self service beer pumps. Lovely open balcony and dog friendly, the perfect place to eat in Whitby. Highly recommended
Place was really nice and the food was good, although it was a shame because we could only find the menu online and only came here because my girlfriend loves seafood and they had a whole page for seafood items but upon visiting they informed us they had a reduced menu. I’m not sure if it was suppliers or anything but it was a disappointment as we probably would have gone elsewhere for more variety. Otherwise it’s a gorgeous place and great for a drink on the outdoor terrace. Prices are a bit steep but that’s what you pay for next to the harbour.
Food was really good and a great selection of drinks. Sadly that's all the positive things I can say. On website it says you can book the restaurant but outside is unreserved. We tried to book the restaurant but it was full so was hoping to sit outside. On arrival we were told no sitting outside for food yet we can sit in restaurant and take drinks out after. The bar man I just don't know how to describe. Brain dead and needed slapping with a fish from the kitchen to wake him up. 3 times I'd asked for orange juice no ice. He said every time ice in your cordial even put cordial on the bill. No choice for table service and had to get your own cutlery. Nasty packets of salt and pepper no pride or standard. What was even worse was they said I could not have a starter. I could order a starter but it would be served with the main so ultimately my meal had gone cold by time I ate it all. We were not asked at any stage how things was and payment was up front I do normally like to talk through issues rather than rant public a out them The food was great very fresh and with a stunning view. But the service needs to be better for the price charged and the staff just need to switch on. Would like to try it again however as I said the food was great
I've been to whitby many times, never eaten here until now, and it looks better inside than the view street side. Service excellent food was goodFood: 4/5
