Had a cardiac ablation here, stressful and upsetting but the staff were so so lovely from start to finish. They were attentive, caring, and even just before the op when I was having a small meltdown, multiple surgeons I hadn't met before came over to cheer me up. The overnight unit staff were lovely and I was surprised how chill the atmosphere was there- not stressful and loud like other overnight wards I've been in. If you're having this- don't worry you're in the best hands!
Went to breast clinic here..the staff here are absolutely brilliant, one lady in particular ive met on 2 occasions now..sade, is such a lovely nurse.nyou are seen here really fast.nOnly bad thing about this hospital is lack of parking, there is none! I had to get a ticket in order to have my appointment..but hey-ho
The SCHEDULERS at St. Bart’s Hospital really need to improve their procedures. I was scheduled to be at the Imaging Department for an appointment at 09:15 and even asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to the appointment. When the nurse from the Imaging Department came out, she informed me that there were 4 patients scheduled before me which would mean I would be seen in approximately 3 hours. I asked the nurse why I was asked to be here so early and I told her that this would delay me to the rest of my day’s planned appointments. The nurse said she had nothing to do with this but the this was the procedure by the Schedulers. It is extremely ignorant by the Schedulers to schedule me in the same time as other patients, although they know they have scheduled other patients the same time. But their current procedure is to schedule all patients to arrive the same time in the morning while these patients cannot be seen at the same time. At the moment I’m reasonably fit so I can sit here and wait for 3 hours but if this would have happened two months ago when I was in a much much worse condition, this would have been a disaster. This is supposed to be cancer care, well the SCHEDULERS do not care about the cancer patients at this hospital.
This hospital is the pits for cancer patients. No compassion for the end of life care or respect. My wife passed away with cancer and the nurses were just said... Well we all have to go one day. Disgusting. The oncologists don't tell the truth. Especially Dr conibear. Who told her that she had stage 4 cancer when she was walking out the door after her appointmentn. Unbelievable. Disgusting. They made so many mistakes with her treatment it's unbelievable. I could go on but it would take a booknI'm going for negligence anyway.
I attended Barts last week for a bone marrow biopsy. I was warned that it would be painful. I had a little wait but nothing out of the ordinary. Other than that, everything was exemplary. Kim, who did the biopsy, was exceptional. Friendly, explained everything and professional. In fact, I experienced hardly any pain either during the procedure or afterwards. The only negative was that I didn’t receive a letter or any information about how to prepare or what to expect. Just a text message.
