Staff are always friendly and helpful. Shop is clean and well stocked. What else could you ask? I'm not quite sure when I'd give it 5 stars, though...guess they'd need to go that extra mile... free stuff? Lol
Facilities are disgusting. In the year I’ve been shopping here the washrooms are gross. The ‘air freshener’ on the counter clearly doesn’t work because the place smells like week old surf and turf. The sinks are grimy and toilets smell rancid and do not at all feel clean either. I don’t dare think what’s gone on in there. On this mornings particular excursion I used a generous hand full of hand sanitizer up to my elbows to feel clean after leaving. I’ve had a better experience out in the woods.
Great shop. It is a fairly big Sainsbury’s with a full range of products. It also has an Argos and Habitat on site as well. You have two access points from either the Costco/Ikea end or via the Straiton retail park side. I was impressed with the staff who were happy to stop what they were doing and help me navigate their products.
Decent size of shop with plenty selection.nnHowever, I must warn people about the potential dangers when buying meat from here.nnOver the past few months, I have bought Sockeye salmon, Organic chicken thighs x2 on separate occasions and Organic ground beef. Every time - 4 in total, the meat has smelled strongly of sulfur, or rotten eggs and had to be thrown out. I generally cook with the meat right after buying, and the food was well within date. I don't live too far from this shop either, so can't even blame the trip home.nnI now buy all my meat from the nearby M&S and have never had a problem.nnThe staff standing around the self service tills are also not much help most of the time and will ignore you.nnNever again.
This store stocks almost no local or Scottish produce even they though put up signs saying: Taste of Scotland. Bread, potatoes, berries, yogurts, cold meat etc etc could all be sourced much nearer the store.
