There ard currently only 2 rooms open to the public as the whole place is battling the damp. It is not the easiest place to find but historically the place is fascinating. Staff friendly and belpful. I think it will be long time befote visitor will ome in their droves. There is a limited bsriety of priducts in cafe.
Lovely place and very historically important, but not too nice memories about staff. I had a massive fall at the entrance of the Old Hall back in 2019, went to hospital after it, was in real agony and then was on crutches for couple weeks. I let staff know what had happened, filled in an incident form, but never have heard anything back from management which is sad, as I would think management would drop me a line and ask "how are you", just out of humanity and perhaps discuss what could be done to prevent such incidents. I could not go back home in a car as could not make journey with the injury, had to find a place to stay overnight near by. It is an old historical building, hence not even floor surfaces are understandable, no issue here, but I expected a bit more compassion from the staff. Beautiful historical place, but low stars for the staff attitude, sorry.
Nice little drive out here to a little car show. Very friendly people, didn't see in the house as I think it's being refurbed. But has some interesting historyRooms: 3/5
The hall itself is beautiful inside - don't let the ugly rendering on the outside pit you off! A lovely tudor mansion, it retains it's lived in atmosphere. The gardens are very peaceful too. The guest rooms are clean and modern. The café has very few vegan options unfortunately.
Would have liked a larger range of coffee styles, as they only service filter coffee, the cakes were nice. And the grounds are lovely. Didnt get chance to go round the Hall. But only a 15 minute walk from the centre of Ulverston via a little footpath that takes you out the back of Ulverston stright to it.
Well worth a visit, The home of George Fox and early Quakerism, it is nicely maintained in 1650s style, with beautiful gardens, a Meeting house and cafe. Not easy to find but a nice couple of hours may be enjoyed here. Free parking en site.
Went for day as a tourist to Ulverston. Recorded tour was very good - not too long but informative. Very restful sort of place. Cheese scones very good too.
What a wonderful place, such a tranquil setting. The staff are so nice & polite. It's definitely worth a visit, & I'd love to go again .
Peaceful, welcoming venue, a Grade II listed Tudor mansion, which became the founding place of Quakerism. Excellent cafe. Well worth a visit.
A 16th century country house, set in beautiful gardens. Bedrooms are modern, comfortable and well decorated. Staff were welcoming, and very helpful.
