Sent from Barnsley for a 3 night stay for emergency treatment. Surprised to have my own room which was really lovely. The staff were awesome through the day, really caring all across the different responsibilities they had. Room was spotlessly clean. I saw one doctor on the first day who I had to ask politely she had been touching her face and surfaces to put clean gloves on before she examined the inside of my mouth, she was rude and abrupt after that. Every patient has the right to ask!! It’s my mouth and your germs - they don’t mix!! Sometimes we all forget the mundane so I accept that. Theatre staff were brilliant, had a good laugh going down. Recovery could be better - having to beg for more pain relief isn’t the best experience and asking someone to measure their pain on 1-10 isn’t the best way in my opinion when I’m laid there in absolute agony!! Bit frustrating with staff uniforms and people not wearing lanyards with their roles on - it’s literally guess work who is who!! That is not the staffs decision though. The trust need to address that. Clearly the ward is understaffed but they make a belting effort with all patients. I wouldn’t ever want to go anywhere else if I was in hospital hopefully not again! although the hospital chefs need to be handed their P45’s. It’s grim - ohhh and cold up north and not the weather. Just the food!!
Had to have a medical abortion and the staff on G1 are incredible. So kind, compassionate and thorough. Talked me through each stage. Made me feel safe and comfortable. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Thank you so much to the G1 team for making my horrible situation a lot easier
It's a good hospital with great staff as with most NHS hospitals it could do with better funding . Parking is limited as it was built when there were less cars about .at first visit it's a daunting site as it can seem difficult to find your way around but after a couple of visits it all seems fairly quickly to become straightforward. On the times I have needed to go staff do amazing work , it's just a shame they don't have the funds to help more people
Should get zero stars. Consider this a zero. Shocking hospital. And I'm taking my complaint as high as I can. Because you very nearly caused damage to my body. I could walk when I came in to your hospital. I couldn't even stand alone when I left. Shame on you.
Fabulous staff, given emergency appointment at the early pregnancy unit, sadly didn’t get any names or catch anyone’s badge but all the staff members I met were amazing, from the male volunteer downstairs who helped me with directions to the ladies on the G1 ward including receptionist, nurse and sonographers. Couldn’t of asked for a better experience under nervous circumstances. Thank you.
