This is mainly for Dr Ayinippully. I have been through a lot with finding out what is wrong with me, and this woman is a SAINT. She is a huge credit to herself. I am a 16 year old girl and ever since I first step foot into the clinic, she has gone above and beyond to make sure every tiny little intricate detail goes checked. Let me have a massive cry in her office, was ridiculously kind and overall a pleasure. I have never met such a pleasant, lovely doctor. Your child will be under AMAZING care with her. Thank you so much for all you have done for me and continue to do, I am gutted I am too old to be under your service now haha.nnBrilliant doctor!!!!
Ridiculous waiting time! They just don’t care! Stepson has been registered here since he was 2 years old, he is non verbal, and he has now past 11years old. In secondary school and suffering ADHD and autism spectrum but we are still waiting. They said 3 years ago they have an 18 months waiting list. That has passed like over a year ago now and they are still saying they don’t know when there will be any progress!!! Where do we go for help? I don’t actually believe the ADHD assessment is that complex to do. It’s probably only a bunch of questions that parents need to answer but they make it look like it’s something you need to wait for years to actually receive. I don’t understand what people are employed here for???
Deeply Disappointed with Ryegate Children’s Centre Sheffield Children’s HospitalnnMy experience with Ryegate has been nothing short of exhausting and deeply damaging. I’ve gone through their diagnostic process twice, for two separate children, from 2018 to 2025, and in that time, very little has changed. The department is plagued by inefficiency, complacency, and outdated practices that have real-world consequences for children and their families.nnThe process is painfully slow and riddled with delays, useless appointments, and mountains of repetitive paperwork—just to deliver a diagnosis that is usually glaringly obvious from the outset. My son was denied nursery placements simply because Ryegate took too long to diagnose him. He missed out on crucial early years development, and getting an EHCP felt like trying to solve a puzzle with no solution. It shouldn’t be this hard to access help for vulnerable children.nnThe stress, delay, and constant chasing took a significant toll on my mental health and played a major role in the breakdown of my family. Mismanagement of sensitive documents, repeated excuses for not receiving communications, and a lack of digital infrastructure only added to the chaos. Why, in 2025, are parents still forced to print and re-send thick forms full of repetitive questions—especially after those forms go missing? This entire system could be improved drastically with basic technology and AI to clear backlogs and speed up decision-making.nnI once missed a call from Ryegate and called back the same day, only to be told that the person was off work, had left no notes, and no one else could assist me. I was forced to wait indefinitely for a potential call back. This lack of continuity and accountability is unacceptable. It’s sickening to witness such disorganisation in a service that deals with something as critical as children’s health.nnTo make matters worse, once a diagnosis is finally given, the support is minimal—especially for ADHD and speech or occupational therapy. You’re often left waiting another three years for an ADHD assessment, and in many cases, all they do is add a therapist’s name to an EHCP without offering any practical, measurable intervention. It feels performative and hollow.nnBecause of their failure to act promptly and support my children appropriately, I’ve had to give up my job. My child is on a reduced school timetable, and as the only parent remaining, full-time care has fallen solely on me. Their incompetence has pushed my family into financial hardship.nnRyegate lacks urgency, innovation, and basic empathy. The department needs new leadership—people who are passionate, tech-savvy, and dedicated to creating systems that work for families, not against them. Until then, they will continue to fail the very children they are meant to protect and support.nnIt is heartbreaking and infuriating to witness such a dysfunctional service. Families deserve better. Children deserve better. if there was zero stars on google it would be much better.
Will always find a way to diagnose children with autism. Autism spectrum so broad we would all be classed as autistic in some way shape or form. Not helpful with requests for information and treatments mainly involve sedatives to keep children subdued. They are an outrage.
A very unhelpful place. Spoke to a lady called Danielle who was a supervisor who was rude to me and never called me back to me when she promised to. Plus Sheffield Children's Hospital PALS never answer their phones, you have leave a message and then never get back to you, regarding the message you left. Is this good enough? Of course it isn't. But they will never accept fault and would rather parent blame and shame to deflect fault.
